Hey, PMC. I'm Nathan, and I'm pretty new to this site. I've been playing minecraft for a while, and I've been wanting to make a mod for a while. I've been brainstorming some ideas, and I know what I want to do. I have grown up in the later generation, but I have seen lots of retro video games, and the classic cartoons like Steamboat Willie and Pokémon(The original, not this crappy Black and White). And who can forget the Nintendo 64 and Gamecube? That's right, nobody. I remember spending hours playing Sonic the Hedgehog or Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, the successor to SM64.
Now, Minecraft is the main game I play right now. Minecraft is a great game and all, but there is nothing nostalgic about it, as most games today are. I was thinking, wouldn't it be great if I could add something into the game that would bring back that great feeling of watching the old Disney cartoons, or jumping on those goombas? I'm not overfilling with ideas right now, but I think it would be nice if I could have some people in the PMC community help me to make a mod for the game where any player who has downloaded it could see some cartoon characters up to their antics, or bugs bunny and Elmer Fudd going at it. And how about adding another use to the jungle, such as having Donkey Kong sitting in high trees and throwing barrels down at you? Or how about finally using Mushroom Islands for something, maybe as the basis for the Mushroom Kingdom, where you can see Toad assisting Princess Peach? And how stunning would it be if you were building a house near a river(in minecraft) when suddenly, you see a steamboat, piloted by a mouse on two legs, steam on by.
So, I am basically thinking of a mod that would add mostly NPCs and generated structures, but it would also be nice to add some occasional items in there, such as a star to give to Mario to have him do you a favor, or a steamboat stack if that famous boat happens to stop running. Now, I now this isn't much to work on, but I think that with time, effort, will, and great and enthusiastic designers, this could become a very successful mod. Also, keep in mind that I have a bit, but not too much experience in the modding category, and I was thinking of making this mod to also help me gain some experience from the senior modders in this community. Who knows, this may become one of the most successful mods there is, and it might get one download. You know what they say, "Only time can tell".
