Jake, the youngest of his very poor family who lived out in the country in the size of a shed awoke one very early morning by a banging and his mother screaming. He immediately got out of the old ragged sofa that he slept and ran to see what was happening. He looked to his very small garden and his mother was nowhere to be seen and the screaming and banging had stopped. Jake was very confused and was tempted to go and find his mother. He crept out of his door out onto the small patch of grass. Over the other side of his garden were a lot of bushes and trees and beyond that was a main road. He cautiously approached the bushes and looked inside.
Suddenly there was a hissing sound, Jake looked around but couldn't see anything, he was beginning to feel scared and wanted to go back to his house but he had a feeling that his mother was in danger.
