So I was on Mineplex, and I was playing Dominate. I was playing fairly well, and was called a hacker numerous times. I am a hacker. I hack networks/databases/websites. I do not hack games... until now. I've decided to begin a journey to reverse engineer the Minecraft Protocol, to figure out how players connect to the game. After a bit of light research, I found wireshark. Wireshark is a packet sniffer. This means it records the little pieces of data that leave/enter your router/computer. I ran wireshark and played Minecraft for about 30 seconds, just long enough to get on a server, then disconnect. I'm currently sorting out the lines of packets, mapping out what is the protocol. I'll be sure to update, so check back every once in a while. Remember! Coding is a valuable tool, go use google and find out how Minecraft works, or how a website works. You may find you love it.
