Selfishness. Thato s right.


What has the community come to? All people seem to care about these days is exp, or being o the besto . Why?!


Well, for a start, as I said in my last blog, people are CONSTANTLY advertising on the PMC chat. Now, I will admit, I do this too, but do you know why I do it? I do it, because I want to receive o constructive criticismo or some feedback on my work. Of course this comes with views and diamonds, however, why do most of the others do it on the chat? ...To get their damn exp!


Personally, Io m not overly fussed on experience, however it does prove helpful when uploading stuff (as people tend to look at peopleo s stuff if they are higher level), but Io ll save that for another blog. However, I am more about sharing my hard work with the community and receiving feedback on it. Because thereo s no feeling like putting countless hours into a texture pack, for example, and someone saying something like o Sweet mother of a screwdriver wrench monkey this is freaking amazing!o . (thanks by the way flamingdiaper4U) Because it is an inventive comment, and it actually shows people appreciate it.


Io d rather 100 views, and several nice or encouraging comments, then 20,000 views and hundreds of negative comments... Wouldno t you?


So why the hell do people feel the need to post (sometimes awful) work, on the PMC chat?! Ok, if they asked for tips to help them improve, Io d be happy to oblige, however they dono t. They upload something which could be done in 10 seconds, and beg for diamonds! Why, people, why?!


Also, whenever I am on the chat and I see someone post a link, I do normally click on it, out of generosity, because I like to think, theyo d do the same for me, and do they? NO!


Once, some new guy asked me to check out his skin, and I did. Admittedly, it wasno t very good, but I didno t want to say that to him, so I left a comment telling him what could be improved. Then he asked me to diamond it, so I did, because it was his first skin, and I wanted to help support him, as we were having a nice little conversation.


So I diamonded his work and that, so I thought he wouldno t mind checking out mine, so I sent him a link and asked me to tell me what he thought, and I also asked if he could diamond it (if he liked it), and I did this over a whisper, so I wasno t begging to everyone or anything, just him.


And this was his response (more or less, I cano t remember his exact words, as it was a few days ago, and I didno t record it), he said, o Oh my god thato s awful. It hurto s my eyeo s! If I could take diamonds off that I would! Io d give it -100000!!!!!o . He obviously refused to diamond it, in spite of me moments earlier giving him constructive criticism and a diamond for his work. This is what I sent to him. Now, you are well within your rights to agree with him, but dono t say it to my face. Do like I did, and be nice. Just give support and advice... Not throwing it back in their face and calling it trash!


Basically, what Io m saying is, people need to learn to be less selfish. As I click on more or less every link people send in the chat sometimes, yet some people just dono t have the courtesy to return the favour? Why? I dono t know. Ito s just plain and simple selfishness to me.
