Before I begin, let me say that this is opinionated. Go ahead and think whatever you want, but this is just what I think
Does Age Matter??
My answer would be yes and no, depending on the issue..
Here on some scenarios that could be a yes or no answer.
You want to apply for staff on a server. You are 12 years old, and denied because of your age.
I think that the owner has no right to deny you based on just age. 1 main reason why you would have been denied is because the owner thinks you are immature or you would rage. Obviously, he could make a bad choice accepting you because maybe you are immature, maybe you swear and would prove to be a bad influence on the players.
Your mom won't let you download GTA5 because it is rated M.
This can depend on your age. If you were 16, or even 15 I think it would be okay to get. Even 14 is fine. But at the age of 13 it is a bad influence. Now with today's society, there are 13 year olds getting pregnant and such. But anyways, you could probably find subsitute games that aren't as violent. For example, you could get Minecraft. You could get Portal 2 (which is a super fun puzzle game) Now you would probably say "mom thats boring! I want a fun game" or "I'm mature mom" which I agree with. Even though it isn't much better, you could get COD. Or just learn to live without it.
Now this is where age DOES matter.
Some people say age is just a number. And sometimes it is. Pornography. This is a bit of a touchy subject. Obviously it is not meant for kids, yet some people still watch it. This is where age restrictions go out the window, and it really shouldn't. Its not good for a 12 year old to be watching that type of stuff because it will influence them. Plus, chances are the kid will talk about that stuff to his/her friends and then the parents find out.
So this topic is mainly for you to decide, does age matter? And do you think age restrictrion rules/laws should be stricter?
