Does minecraft really need another update?

I have been watching Minecraft since Beta 1.3 and playing since 1.6 and this has been an exciting game to be playing all of these years but it has changed so much and sometimes I can't keep up with all the updates. Sometimes they are pointless and I will always dissagree with updates at first unless they are to help it to be less laggy or to improve gameplay but othertimes when it is adding new blocks and mobs I will dislike them untill I get used to them... But othertimes I will constantly dislike them and still dislike to this day. But some things I will love as soon as they arrive (But that rarely happens :p) I would like to know your oppinions on the updates and if they should or shouldn't change the game.
