hello everyone , i've decided to make a tutorial about dynamic shading .
remember this is how i shade and it's not perfect but i hope it helps .
feel free to try my techniques for yourself . oke let's start .
part 1 . lightsource

part 3 . the collors
Red colors should get more purple as they get darker and more orange as they get lighter.
If your base color is magenta/purple , pixels should get more violet as they get darker and more red as they get lighter.
part 4 . clothing and the face
have a great day.

remember this is how i shade and it's not perfect but i hope it helps .
feel free to try my techniques for yourself . oke let's start .
part 1 . lightsource
the thing you do first if you want to use dynamic shading is shoosing where the light source is .
in this picture you can see some examples
example 1

. i personally like to have mine tilted which means that you won't shade straight.
i do this so you can see more details .
it's easier to make it straight but i think that it's not good enough to make a skin stand out.
part 2 . the body the second thing i do is looking at the body
not every body is the same and the shading shouldn't be eighter .
there are spots on a body that you shouldn't just shade over these spots are darker because your arms or legs are infront of the light these are the spots you should make darker but as i said not every body is the same so you might shange it up a little.
example 2

part 3 . the collors
the collors are different too
when you use dynamic shading (or just normal shading ) it's a common thing to use palettes and hue shifting .
there are many blogs that go deep into this because it's very important to become a great skinner but for now you'll have to do with my little (bad) explanation . so you have value and saturation with collors.
if you change the value you get a grey tone on your collors if you darken or lighten them .
if you adjust the saturation you'll get an unatural look the collors just don't seem right .
what you should do is use them both . if you use them both you need to use less saturation if you want it to be lighter .
and more if you want it to be dark. and it's the otherway around with the value .
now hue shifting it's not easy but there are lots of pictures you can use
this is how you should use the different collors when you are hue shifting .
Red colors should get more purple as they get darker and more orange as they get lighter.
If you're using orange, you will need red as the pixels get darker and yellow as the pixels get lighter.
If your base is yellow, colors should get more orange as they get darker. but don't use green it doesn't look right try to stay with yellow .
If you use green, colors should get more cyan as they get darker and more yellow as they get lighter.
Cyan, colors should get more blue as they get darker and more green as they get lighter.
Blue colors should get more violet as they get darker and more cyan as they get lighter.
If your base color is magenta/purple , pixels should get more violet as they get darker and more red as they get lighter.
part 4 . clothing and the face
it's also important to look at the clothing , a jacket might block some light on a t-shirt if it's worn open or a cap or hood might block some light on the face .
the last thing i wanna teach you guys is the face. ears a nose or your cheeks all these things can block light so be sure to shade them too .
have a great day.
