This is a story I wrote as part of a social experiment. Please don't spoil the ending, and please don't say anything mean. It's not supposed to be amazing, it's supposed to surprise you. Leave your reactions in the comments! The POVs were a bit confusing for a few people, so please remember that if I haven't stated that the POV changes, it doesn't. ~ainzo♥
Emily's POV:
I knew it. I knew Sam had a crush on me from the moment we met. And the feeling was completely mutual. We would always glance at each other in class, talk in the hallways between classes, and even sit together on the school bus. But we were never more than friends. One day, that all changed...
I was chatting with my friend Kate when Sam came up to me.
"How would you like to go hang out at Starbucks after school?"
I could tell that this wasn't just a friendly offer, but a date.
"That sounds great!" I replied. Sam smiled and walked away. Kate smirked at me. I hit her arm and walked to my next class.
Sam's POV:
Emily was the most amazing girl I had ever met. I fell in love the moment I met her. I knew she liked me too, but I was always too nervous to ask her out. I also knew my parents wouldn't approve. "You're too young..." they'd say. So me and Emily just remained friends. But one day, I gathered up enough courage to ask her out. I could tell my parents I was hanging out with a friend.
She was standing there, in the hallway. I took a deep breath. All I had to do was ask. I walked up to her.
"How would you like to go hang out at Starbucks after school?" I asked.
"That sounds great!" she replied. I managed not to scream with excitement as I walked away. I finally had a date with the girl of my dreams!
Emily's POV:
After school, we walked to the nearby Starbucks. We didn't say much, but at some point Sam took my hand and held it the rest of the way there.
When we arrived, Sam, knowing about my social anxiety, ordered both our drinks. We sat down and took sips.
"Mine's good, how's yours?" I asked.
"Good."
Awkward silence. Suddenly, I remembered this amazing Supernatural fan theory. Sam and I both loved Supernatural. It was our favourite TV show. I started to explain the theory. We spent the next couple of hours discussing headcanons and OTPs. Sam could be such a nerd sometimes. It was great.
Sam's POV:
After school, I located Emily and we walked to Starbucks together. I held her hand most of the way there.
When we got there, I remembered her social anxiety. I asked her what she wanted and ordered for her. We sat down.
"Mine's good, how's yours?" she asked, referring to our drinks.
"Good." I answered.
We sat there in silence. I realised that even with her social anxiety, Emily always found something to talk to me about. Sure enough, she suggested this insane Supernatural fan theory. We spent at least two hours arguing and agreeing. She was such a nerd. I loved it.
Emily's POV:
After those two hours, we left, and Sam walked me home. We held hands the whole time. Our Supernatural debate continued for another hour.
We reached my house. As we reached my house, Sam asked:
"Do your parents know that you're..."
"No, not yet" I interrupted. I knew exactly what Sam meant. "Hey, I just realised I don't know what Sam is short for!" I said.
"Samantha." she replied.
"Yeah, I thought so."
She gently pulled me towards her and kissed me.
^_^ Thank you guys so much for all your nice feedback, and for helping me to get my first popreel!
