Hey guys, This is my english assignment :/ its a short story (700 words) on exchange students and how awesome australians are. :) hope you like it and if you do, please give me a diamond, it means alot :)
Max stares at the road, waiting for the exchange students to arrive.
o Come back into class Max!o yells Maxo s Japanese teacher.
o Just a few more minuteso Max begs. The taxi finally arrives and Max jumps for joy.
o Theyo re here!o Max yells, o The exchange students are finally here!!!o
A group of people dressed in dark blue and red uniforms get out of the taxi and head towards the staffroom of the school. A man gets out of the taxi, pays the taxi driver and walks up to Maxo s Japanese teacher.
o Hello! You must be Mr. Shields?o he says.
o Yes, that is meo says Maxo s Japanese teacher.
Watching Mr. Shields and the man talk, Max becomes bored and decides to walk to the group of exchange students. As Max arrives at the door of the staffroom, he hears a man calling a roll of some sort.
o Kiyoshi?o says the man.
o Here!o says one of the boys.
Max beams as he realises that was the exchange student he was going to look after.
o Max, come back into class now, the exchange students will come in a short while,o says Mr. Shields.
As Max sits down Mr. Shields asks the class, o How will you treat the exchange students and where will you take them to have an Australian experience? Ito s Monday today so you will only have the rest of the week to take them to places.o
The class talks among themselves until one student says o Io m going to take my student to a theme park!!o
A few people discuss where they will take their visitor until another student says o Nah, these days the theme parks are polluted and all the rides are broken.o
The class agrees and disagrees among themselves until finally Max says, o Io m going to take my exchange student to the beach!o
o Ok, but dono t push the exchange students to do anything they dono t want to do,o reminded Mr. Shields.
After lots of learning and sightseeing, Friday finally comes and Kiyoshi and Max are going to the beach.
o Do you have your towel, swimmers, sunscreen and spare clothes?o asked Maxo s Mum.
o Yes!o replied Max and Kiyoshi.
After a two hour drive, Kiyoshi and Max arrive at Surfero s Paradise. Kiyoshi suddenly flinches and backs off towards the car.
o Are you alright Kiyoshi?o Max says.
Kiyoshi exclaims, o WOW! Those waves are so tall and big! In Japan we dono t have many waves at all. I might just sit up here on the sando . Remembering what Maxo s Japanese teacher said, Max agrees and walks up a sand-dune with Kiyoshi.
Kiyoshi stares into the ocean with a smile on his face and says, o Australians are so nice and laid back. It makes me feel like this is my second home.o
o OI YOU!o a voice yells, o GO BACK TO WHERE YOU CAME FROM!o
Kiyoshi is shocked and runs back to the car crying.
o Wait, Kiyoshi!o Max yells.
Max finally catches up to Kiyoshi to find him sitting on a bench crying.
o Io m sorry for that stupid guy back there saying those mean things to you. Heo s a total idiot.o Max says apologetically.
o It is ok, it is just that I was so happy and that was the last thing I was expecting to happen,o Kiyoshi replied. Max thought for a while and got an idea.
He said to Kiyoshi, o How o bout we go get some ice-cream? Thato s how I always cool down after Io m sad or angry.o
o Ok, I would like that a lot thanks,o murmurs Kiyoshi.
While Max and Kiyoshi walk to the Ice-cream Store, Kiyoshi stops crying and starts smiling again.
o Thanks for cheering me up Max, it means a lot to me,o Kiyoshi says.
o No problem, ito s the true Australian way,o Max replies.
After having ice-cream, chatting for a while and then getting back home, Kiyoshi and Max realise that today was their last day. While Kiyoshi packs up his bags, Max decides to make a box full of memorable items from Australia. The next day, when Kiyoshi and all the other exchange students are leaving Max gives Kiyoshi the box and waves him goodbye. When Max got home he found a note on his bed.
It said o Thanks for having me, I had the best time in my life. From your best friend, Kiyoshi.o
