Step 1)
You will need:
  • A daylight sensor
  • Redstone dust
  • A block ( not glowstone or glass)
  • A redstone torch
  • A command block
Step 2)
Place your daylight sensor on the ground, then run some redstone dust from the sensor in a straight line coming from it (between 3 and 15 blocks is best) without using a repeater!

Step 3) place a block at the end of the redstone wire, then place the redstone torch on the side of the block (not the same side as the dust)

Step 4) place your command block directly in front of the redstone torch.

Step 5) enter the commnd: /time set #### , substituting a value for the time in place if the ####
Eg. Midday is 6000 and midnight is 18000.
Enjoy, your eternal day system is now set up.

If you are trying to set up the system for eternal night, then you don't need to place the block with the redstone torch, as you do not need to invert the signal from the daylight sensor, instead, you can just run the redstone wire straight into the command block, like this:

oook, well I'll admit I don't think it's anything anyone's done before, who actually knows about the commands that we have access to. Though it's kinda neat cus I've noticed the sensor acts based of time, not just LoS; meaning you can still have a sunset & sunrise before triggering it.

Thanks for your feedback. Yes you can use the /game rule doDaylightCycle false, however I prefer this method as it gives a use for the underused Daylight Sensor.
Don't forget to check out my video on this at the top of the blog, leave a diamond or favourite!
