Hi, guys.
Today i'm here to talk about a certain type of person that's on every server, and it's not hard to come across one.
I am, of course, talking about the Famous Minecrafter Impostor. These people, being one of the most annoying people out there, try to seek attention, get higher ranks, etc. By getting a skin from a famous minecraft player and pretending to be them.
Why do they do it?
There are a few reasons why i think people would do it. Number one, i think, is to attract attention from people. But what kind of attention do they attract? It's usually negative stuff, like "That's SO fake, you n00b!!!" or "You're not [insert famous person's name here], you stupid idiot!!" And considering how much people do it how do they not know that it doesn't help? Another reason, i think, is to get higher ranks and/or items. But... why should server staff just give you a higher rank because you're famous? I don't think any employer would give a famous serial killer a job. What amazing law of the universe makes it necessary to be a butt-kisser to some famous person?
How do they do it?
Usually, they simply use a skin, and walk around trying to show it off. But then, those people may not be impostors, they might just be a proud fan of that person. But then there are some people who do it with the skin AND in the chat, so they actually try to get people to pay attention to them. But i don't see how THAT would work. In all the videos of skydoesminecraft that involves him going on a big server, he doesn't type anything in a chat that tries to attract attention to himself. He doesn't need to.
Here's a really pathetic attempt at impersonating Pewdiepie that i witnessed on a server...

[Pewdiepie]: Hey bros.
When i saw that i just thought "...wow. So very pathetic." I have no idea what was going through that person's mind when he thought that was a good way to impersonate a famous youtuber. I mean, COME ON!!!! Your real username is like red in a crowd of green! What are you looking for?!?! My god...
Other than that, some people try to use a proxy that lets them use other people's accounts. But the problem with that is that whenever someone tries to convince staff members that he's that person, he really hams it up and acts in no way like the real person. Plus, staff members come across non-proxy impostors every day, so they know what to expect.
Consequences
There aren't many consequences to being an impostor, because really, it's not a truly big deal, unless they're being a spambot or a greifer on a non-griefing server, in which case they get kicked or banned, or whatever punishments the server staff can administer.
Well, that about wraps it up, And if you see an impostor like that on a server, Just ignore him, Don't feed the attention-seeker.
Bye, guys!
