I would add fish because it could add more fun to fishing because, you could cast and then if you miss you would wait and the fish would slowly swim towards the lure. And there would be different kinds of fish that when you catch them you can cook them (The same as regular fish) and each Species would offer different amounts of healing. And with spawners in creative you could build an aquarium!

i just dream for the day that you can use Fishing rods to catch VISIBLE fish swimming around in the water. The fish swim towards your fishing rod and you can actually catch it with a challenge.
