im not 100% posative on this fact, but it seems to me that the veriations in hoe's arnt just how long they take to break. For instance if you till some grass with a wooden hoe it will shortly return the dirt above it, but if you till some grass with a diamond hoe it seems to stay tilled for a longer period. All golden tools seem to be worse in strength than wood but do things alot quicker, my thoughts are that it might keep dirt tilled for the longest time of all but runs out very quickly.

Dont keep me to that though, just a theory xD

I think that golden tools are so utterly useless that even if you had thousands of them, you sill wouldn't benefit. If you wanted to go mining with a golden pickaxe, you would have to bring at least 10 f the for the first few minutes alone. They are only useful if you have to break something extremely fast.
