Hello newbies! Since Minecraft is constantly getting new players I thought it would be helpful to create a guide for all of you!

This blog includes: Installing Maps for Singleplayer, Installing Maps into your server, Mobs and, MORE.

I will continue to expand this throughout the year! Please leave some suggestions for guides down below!

Installing Maps for Singleplayer:

Mac OSX Snowleopard and under:

1) Open Finder (located in the very left of the dock)
2) Go to /Users/YourName/Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves/
3) Drag the map into the saves folder (Make sure the map is unzipped)
4) Open Minecraft and play!

Mac OSX Lion and above:
1) Open Finder
2) Click go in the topbar
3) Hold Alt/Option key
4) Click Library
5) Navigate to /Library/Application Support/minecraft/saves
6) Drag the map file into the saves folder
7) Open Minecraft and play!

Windows (may be a flawed guide):
1) Click Start button
2) In the search bar type "%AppData%"
3) Open .minecraft
4) Open saves
5) Drag map file into saves folder
6) Open Minecraft and play!

Installing Maps into your server:
(Operating System does NOT matter)
1) Open your server folder (Wherever it is located)
2) Drag the map file into the server
3) Drag your previous world file to another area for safekeeping
4) Rename your downloaded map as "world"
5) Boot up server
6) Join the server and play!

Mobs Guide:

Pig:
Friendly Mob
Drops: Raw Porkchop
Can be ridden
While riding can be controlled by a Carrot on a Stick

Cow:
Friendly Mob
Drops: Raw Beef, Leather

Sheep:
Friendly Mob
Drops: Wool
