Like everything you do in life planning is everything, and if you dont plan before you start to build your map you may end up with choppy storyline, horrible scenery and bad terrain. Lot's of people on YouTube say draw out a rough idea of what your map is going to look like. Personally i dont think that works, but to each his own. And i am writing this on my opinoin so if you dont agree deal with it. First off you need to figure out what kind of Adventure map you are going to do, RPG, Free World, Puzzle, Dungeon map the list goes on. For the sake of this Blog lets say you pick RPG. Now every seasoned RPG gamer knows that a good RPG means a great storyline. And for a RPG map you need to have a better than great stoyline. Give your world a back story, and have good dialouge between characters. Remeber RPG players want to feel like they are the character you created. Now where i don't agree with having a drawn out version of your map it is always good to think of a good story and try to build your world around the story, that way you have some wiggle room if you want to change anything while your building. Next, find some good terrain. If your story is about a guy in a small mountain village then have some good mountain regions surrounded with a forest. If you can't find the correct area you envision in your head, then the next best option is to terraform. If you do go with the terraform method the easiest way to do it is with a mod such as MCedit. But i personally don't use any mods when i make my maps it just depends on how much time you want to spend on your creation. I hope that this Tutorial helps you out and look for a part 2 later this weekend. Comment and check out my map Asguard. Until next time KEEP ON CRAFTING!!!!
