Part A will be teaching you how to start off on a server, later on ( in the other parts ) I will get into combat, bases/forts, redstone, traps, weapons, alliances, plugin ussage, and other such tricks.

DISCLAIMER: I will point out, that these tips wont work for ALL servers! A lot of servers are different, especially role play servers!

ALSO! I don't know how much times people have done something similar to me, in making a guide to successful Factions, but I don't care how much this has been done, I know that this will provide new information.

———————————————————————————————————————--------------------

SUGGESTED ITEMS:

1) I generally just you get Skype or some form of communication, because in a battle, there is no time to type, and you need to communicate with your faction.

2) Some thing to type/write on (such as a piece of paper or TextEdit) this way you can jot down notes (such as coords of bases or spawners) its always nice, to be able to jot things down.

——————————————————————————————————————--------------------------

##### Starting on a server (LONER):

Generally, what people suggest, is to see if you can join a faction, and I agree! However, the method I suggest, is a lot different from others,  you don’t want to ask/beg (especially beg) the public, to see if you can join any factions. TWO problems come from doing that.

1) If a faction lets you join them right off the bat, that faction is most likely to be in control of a new faction leader, who doesn't have  much experence, which means bad commanding and a 95% of being backstabbed. However, sometimes the leader are  making a clan (CLAN, not A faction) Later on I will explain to you how to make a clan.

Clans are a group of people who stay togeather, even if they cross servers, factions are just a way to show thier name, and to get them to group easier.

2) It makes you sound annoying and a new player. (which yes, is important)

The best way I found, to join a fairly decent faction, is to make a faction of your own, and get some tools and stuff, and try to merge with an ally.

##### Starting on A server (GROUP):

If you already have a group from previous servers, I suggest what you do, is to head far from the spawn (or the /warp wilderness) about 5-10K blocks (K = 1000) Or near the world border (but not too close) then build a makeshift base UNDERGROUND (I will go into base building details later)

Then mine and get those production facilities up and going (enchanting room, wheat farm, cow farm, sugar cane farm, what not)

Government Systems

———————————————————————————————————————

This section is for those who want to start a clan (will go over that later) and want to jow to command it, however, more importantly, this section tells you WHAT NOT TO DO!

1) Shared system: this a system where everyone shares stuff, production facilities, items, whatnot.

PROS: This allows people to focus on what they are best at doing! Some can mine, some can build, others can explore, what not (this allows jobs such as miner and what not). Also this means that the weaker players can keep up with the rest of everyone. People can do what they like best, all the time, and still be able to partake of the stuff they don’t do.

CONS: backstabbing is a lot more painful. Also, people can take a lot more, and give nothing. This also supports laziness, sense they can get whatever they want from the miners.

OVERALL: Only use this if you are experienced players AND if you can fully trust other people.

2) Private system: This is where everyone gets their own house, and has to make everything for themselves.

PROS: backstabbing, only lets people know where you are, and yo base is messed up, but at least you have stuff. This also gives the other people in the faction competition, so that they can be the MVP of the faction, which makes people less lazy (this is both good and bad)

CONS: you feel more like allies, then faction members. This also means that production is slower. And everyone has to do everything

NOTABLY: you can share production facilities, however, after trying that, people would usually just those in their bases

OVERALL: good for new factions, good for high tech servers (ones that allow enchanted golden apples (Gapples) and also good for skilled groups, that can do everything themselves

I use the shared system, because the servers are low tech servers, that require good base (or you will die, but its like that for all servers)

####WHAT NOT TO DO####

Do not try to mix the two, and do not have a tax system! If you are using the private system, do not have any shared chest (unless the members place them there for whatnot reason) and do not assign jobs such as miner, soldier, builder when using a private system! If you do that, you get very disorganized people.

Because!: your miners will mine and mine, and then bring back the loot to their chest, thus leaving the others, with nothing. JUST DONT TRY TO MERGE: ONE OR THE OTHER

Note: there is a third system, which is Overmind system, however, Vanilla Minecraft does not have enough of variety to need groups to do certain things, in this system.

The system works by having the miners give their stuff to the head, who gives the stuff to the producers, which then give the final products to whatever they are needed for.

However, this needs to be a LARGE group, in a heavily moded server (such as Tekkit or Voltz) where this system is applicable. (and very useful)

#####Starting a clan: now, this is no easy, because most skilled players are already in a clan of some sort  thus making it really hard to find skilled players. HOWEVER, with this plan, solves that problem (also this gets the loyal people)

STEP 1) Make a faction, and get some items

STEP 2) Grab all the new players you can (BARE WITH ME, I WILL ABOUT TO MAKE NO SENSE)

STEP 3) Get backstabbed (odd, I know, but its required!) Now if the server allows locked chest, then this is perfect, for sense the backstabber cant crab stuff, he will tell the location to he's friends, who will then commence to raid you (need it be said, use a private system)

STEP 4) get raided!

SETP 5) Repeat!

( This sounds really really stupid, but hang in there with me, it will make sense in due time)

##END GOAL##

Each time you get raided, most of your men will leave. However! the few loyal ones will stay with you, after doing this 1-4 times, you should have 6 or so loyal players. Each time you get raided (by the stronger faction) your loyal men will get better at fighting (when fighting the stronger faction). After all, you learn best when you lose. In the end, you get loyal people, who are skilled (ish) But after time, they will get better (the same as you)
  Just go on from there

Later, til Part B :D
