CHAPTER 1
"Wait." He held his paw up to me. I could see his fluffy bobbed tail barely behind him. I was exhilarated. This was my first battle, and it was against an easy opponent. The Tribe Of Flowing Waters and Rivers. Yeah, long name...but they are easy. They can't really fight well, but they could swim. "Please, Rushing Waters, this isn't right! It's not necessary! We can share, we can fight the Eternal Shadow!" The Leader said. "No. This is necessary. We need hunting grounds. We shall not stoop to standards as low as bunnies. We are rabbits! We are HARES!" The other rabbit Leader stood on all fours, determined. She gestured to the crowd of rabbits. "These hares need MEAT! Not petty GRAINS! They shan't fill us up!" She locked her gaze with the Leader. "May the fight begin," She said, waiting for a response from him. He sighed slowly and reluctantly replied. "...may the fight begin..." He muttered.
"CHAAARGE!" She screamed and hopped from the rock she was standing on. "Fight with gusto!" She told her warriors. "Take the right side! You! Break in half and circle!" He made gestures of his right paw and pointed. Then he put his paws together, broke them apart and made a circle. The fighters on my side broke in half and quickly circled the others. The other side pounced right into battle and slashed with their metal attachable claws. "Stand your ground," A large hare next to me said. I slowly sighed and stood my ground. Suddenly I was startled when I heard cawing. Ravens!? No! It cannot be! I thought to myself. We all stared at the sky. A horde of rabbits was on a cliff. Suddenly everyone screamed. "TO THE CAMP! NOW!" The Leader called. I soon felt a large thud on my head. In the last seconds I felt talons carrying me away, and screaming rabbits. They we're screaming my name. Then, it all went black.
I woke up and groaned. It was all black. I must not be awake... I opened my eyes again. Okay...I am awake...
I looked around in the pitch blackness. I spotted a small piece of sunlight. I slowly sneaked over. Oh, no. I saw large rabbits. Huge! My vision was blocked by something else interesting. I heard somehare speaking. "Is he awake, Black?" I quickly ducked and as a large white rabbit hopped up to the hole that I was looking in. "Is he? Answer." The other voice said. "Yeah," The large rabbit responded. "Get him out." Suddenly the flap was lifted and a blinding light flashed. I tried to say where am I, but my throat was dry and nothing came out but a few grunts. I was put in leather shackles. Expertly crafted. I looked to my captors. The large rabbit, "Black" was on the left and on the other side was a slightly smaller brownish doe. She had a hard look in her eyes. But I seemed to see beyond that. Under the hard, evil look in her eyes was kindness. I didn't understand. Soon the subject dropped from my mind as I approached a hole in the ground. A den. I was shoved in. Quickly Black and the doe turned to face me. "We're going to get you out of here, but you have to listen and do what we say. Understand?" I nodded quickly. "Okay. Good. By the way, I am Running Blackpaw." Black said. "And I am Brown Barkfur." Barkfur...strange name. I though to myself. "We're going to walk outside camp as if we're going to get answers from you. Then we'll continue back to your camp. Sound like a plan?" She faced me. I nodded and we started out of camp.
"We're out," Bark looked towards camp. "We can't go for long, but I can make plans with the Oxen in the area for transport. For you, anyway." I suddenly felt like I could talk again. "Why can't you come?" I asked hoarsely. "If our Leader notices we are gone, he'll have our heads," Blackpaw said. He put a caring paw on my shoulder. "We'll talk on the way, if you want." I nodded quickly. Then they started their story on how their Leader, Dark Blackstorm, became leader after murdering the old one. "He was a kind soul who cared for us," as Barkfur described. They belonged to The Tribe Of Eternal Darkness, renamed by Blackstorm from the other name: The Tribe of Sneaking Shadows. They told me how their Leader had a will of iron, which he forced them to dig up, day after day. Only for himself. They arrived at their destination. "Okay, it may take awhile for the oxen to get here. So we're going to have to leave you here." Barkfur said slowly. "We can stay the night, though." Blackpaw said. "Yes, please." I replied.
