Help!

Can someone please tell me how to set up a server! I really want to run one, but I dont know how to set up one. If you tell me I will make you op. Not asking for diamonds, just for answers to my questions which are:

How do I operate a server like others? It will probably be a 12 hour server and will be vanilla. Anyways, I will need a staff of admins and anyone who I can trust as head admins. Server sign ups will be taken on a private chat conversation.

I know how to get everything set up but I have trouble getting it online. This is what I need help with. I will also need help advertising it will be a vanilla survival server simillar to s.nerd.nu
