One day, I was in my world. I had a butt ugly house, a shed, and a chest full of items. I went to get some wood, for a building I was working on. I go in my house, I see someone in my chest. Default skin. Well, I thought... I pressed tab, and sure enough, I was on singleplayer. I exited the world, force updated, and went back into the world. And so, he was gone. I went to get my new iron axe, and took it out of the chest. I turn around, and I never played minecraft the same. EVER. again. Empty eyes. Just plain. WHITE. EYES. I went onto the minecraft forums, asked if they had ever seen him. They said,"very rarely." So I posted a blog about it, and people had replied, "This is Herobrine. Notch said he had never added him in, BUT, here is the scary part... I had never added the feature, but I have seen him. -Notch, 10/27/09. It continues on in a large twitter post, saying Notch never made him, and that he might just be a hacked feature.

There are no references to him at all in the source code, and there is no code to allow for any entity to act like Herobrine. There is no level terrain code to generate redstone torches, 2x2 tunnels or elaborate dungeons with traps.
There is no possible way Herobrine can ever exist in any unmodded clients or servers. Any claims that he is in Minecraft are completely false. Any appearances he may have are caused by mods being installed.
The Minecraft Wiki and Forums do not partake in any viral Herobrine hoax. Any deletion of herobrine-related comments or stories are purely because Herobrine doesn't exist, and the stories are either fictional, with an intent to mislead others, or the result of users playing mods installed on their game without their knowledge."
