2nd time writing this because progress got cleared last time lol..


Hi students! Flamingo here, with my first tutorial :p



Today I'm going over making hair! There are many different ways to make hair, but I'm just showing a few ways!

So what Im gonna start doing, is make the cheeks, skin, and eyes:



Now Im going to make a simple outline with the medium shade, and add some ears:  (I accidentally made everything medium shade, so I just filled in the insides with the lightest color)



Now, make the bottom half of the outline the darkest shade, which is where most people give up and say it's "hive style" which really aggravates me, so Im gonna detail the heck out of this head, but so far it should look like this:


  







Now we can move on to the side hair designs, there are many ways to go about this, but the main rule of thumb is to place a medium pixel in the top 2 corners and to make an L shape at the bottom behind the ears, here are 2 examples:

    


Now we move on to the back of the head, which once again has multiple ways to do it, but a tip is to try and somewhat segment it, as well placing medium shades on top of dark shades, with our 2 examples being here:       

    


Now we move on to the top, the top focuses mainly on the hairline, use your darkest shade and make a line a bit off the center, and branch off a bit here or there, as well as making lines shorter or longer via medium shade, and adding medium shade pixels next to corners:





Now we move to the second layer of hair. I will make it in pink so it is easier to see. So what we're going to is make 2 parts of the hair, the smaller side and the larger side (for this sake since it's a long fringe) and connecting them by using the hairline, and copying that hairline to the 2nd layer, the fun part about the 2nd layer of hair is that there isn't really 1 technique, and that its normal to keep changing how it looks, it took me 10 mins to finalize my hair design, but here is the rough draft:  



Now we spruce it up and add details!
So what we're gonna do is outline the bottom part in the medium shade and color every corner with the darkest shade, which should look something like this:

(as you can see I changed the shape a bit so it looked nicer, which is normal)


Now I can change it to black:


Here's a more symmetrical design, which is basically just BUSH




but here is the final design!

It took me 7 months straight of learning hive style 7 hours a day in order to reach where I am now, so please don't be hard on yourself if yours doesn't turn out the same.
