Hello what is up PMC? DARKDUELIST here for my first review! Now today I am reviewing the newest update for Minecraft...1.6! (technically 1.6.1) This update has been dubbed the 'Horse update' because Mojang has implemented Horses,Donkeys,and even Mules! With this update brings even more possibilities than ever before. I thought that since this was such an awesome update which so many people were looking forward to,I would to a review on it. So with out further ado I give you 1.6! (1.6.1)

HORSES:

Well I thought that the best way to start off this review is with...THE HORSES!
Now the horses come in a variety of colors and patterns such as black and white or spotted. Now along with horses, donkeys also make an appearance. They can also like horses be ridden but you cannot equipt them with armour like horses. Now if you breed a horse with a donkey you will get a mule. Now with a mule, you can ride it and equip it with a chest, thus adding a full inventory that you can use to store things in while you are on the move.

Now The breeding and taming methods are pretty simple for,horses,donkeys, and mules. All you have to do is feed them wheat (much like you would a pig, cow, chicken ETC). Now to breed horses,donkeys,and mules is to,while riding them, to feed them wheat. Thus they will go nose-to-nose and out will pop a baby. Now the baby will most likey have one of each parents traits(such as if the Father has spots,and the mother is black and white, the foal,or baby,will have black and white spots).

Now to tame horses you can do it the easy way or the hard way. The easy way is to continuously right click on the horse to mount it. This usually will take several tries but eventually little hearts will appear around the horse symbolizing that it is tamed. Now the hard way is to constantly spam click the horse with wheat or a block of hay. Now this is heavily resource consuming given that for me it took 1 64 stack of wheat to tame 2 horses.

The only way to ride the horse is by equipping it with a saddle. Saddles can only be found in dungeons. They can also be used on pigs. Equipping armour to a horse can help you if maybe you want to take out a giant mob of zombies or need to quickly dispatch of a few skeletons. Now also withing this update are very rare zombie and skeleton horses that only map makers can access. The only way to get them is by using MCedit. Other than that tyhey DO NOT have a spawn egg.

THE NEW BLOCKS AND TEXTURES:

The 2 new textures in Minecraft are the Block of Lapis and Charcoal. The charcoal used to be the exact texture as coal but now it has some gray and tiny bits of gold added into it. Now the Lapis block is almost in a wavy form with the same color as before.

Now the few new blocks are various stained clays, Blocks of Coal, and hay bales. The stained clays can be obtained by smelting clay to get hardened clay. Next you circle a dye of choice with hardened clay in the crafting table. If you use cyan dye you will get cyan stained clay. It takes 8 blocks but you receive 8 blocks.

Now the block of hay is crafted by placing 9 pieces of wheat in the crafting table. Blocks of hay are a faster way of taming a horse rather than using wheat.

Next the block of coal can be crafted using coal in the same fashion as the bay of hay. You can use the block of coal as fuel as it lasts longer than regular coal.

The last decorative block is carpet. Carpet acts as snow would. It comes off the ground a bit but you walk through it like snow. It is easily crafted. You just have to put 2 pieces of wool (any color) in a horizontal line int he crafting table. You will get 3 pieces of carpet from this.

NEW ITEMS:

A few of the new items in 1.6 are name tags,horse armour, and leads. Leads can be placed on fences by right clicking and then by right click on the horse,pig, or,cow and they will be roped to the fence. Now the name tag can only be found in dungeons and when named in a anvil can be used to name mobs by right clicking them. Now a secret is that if you name the tag Dinnerbone of Grumm the mob will be turned upside down! This makes for some funny times riding on an upside down horse. The final item(s) is horse armour. You can make them out of gold,iron,or,diamond. For all the crafting recipes to all these items and more go to the minecraft wiki.

OVERALL SCORE

As seeing this being a giant update that adds alot of new content, I believe that Mojang outdid itself once more.
