Hello once again my friends.
Recently i've reached my willpower to browse this website once again, it's apart of a small cycle i go through every month or two. Anyway, like i've said i'm browsing the website once more, why should that matter? well this is how. Every time i seem to come on i've noticed quite low quality blogs somehow making it on Pop Reel. I'm sure this isn't when i come back, come on that's just plain stupid, it happens almost everyday. If you've noticed this; that i'm sure you have then you might be like me and ask yourself, how does this happen? how can these low quality blogs make it to Pop Reel after an hour of being posted.
This isn't the first time i've noticed this, i first noticed this about a year ago when i started to create my parody blogs, low quality blogs that were short, didn't have a point were making it onto pop reel with atleast one comment, no diamonds etc. How things become in the "trending" section is that an image, post etc has become popular over the span of a few days, it depends on the activity of the website if this post/image becomes trending. If the image is frequently visited and has good feedback (such as likes, diamond and comments) then the website detects that it's a popular image or post and places it in the trending section where it can be seen without having to find it. This is the same with how Pop Reel works, if a blog becomes popular, or "popular" before the time it's taken off the "recent articals" then it will be taken to the pop reel of the blog section - and the same with projects, skins etc. Considering how used PMC is daily the timespan for a post to become "trending" is much quicker because of the amount of people viewing the website.
Knowing how this worked i wanted to try something, to see if there was a way to take control of how this worked. In order to do that i created an 2nd account using an alternate e-mail i created, i created a blog, a normal parody blog like i used to at the time. I posted it and left it for a short time to see if anything would happen. If nothing would happen during the time i would log into my alternate account and add a comment, just something silly like "great blog!" and then checked back some time after. Once i checked shortly after and my blog was on pop reel, allowing me to obtain the levels, diamond and subscribers i have now. Yes i know it is a bit cheaty however i like to consider it like using a stool to reach a high place.
This brings me to my conclusion; The reason these low quality blogs are reaching pop reel space is because someone would comment on it in a small time from when it was posted, if you see a blog that's short and on pop reel and the creator just left a comment on the blog that's the reason it is on pop reel in the first place. Once it's on pop reel it will get diamonds and more comments, allowing it to stay on there longer, taking up more pop reel space for good quality blogs.
I'm sure if this does trend then there will be a higher power (moderator) explaining how it really works and putting my blog to shame with a simple sentence or something, but i'm not even sure if this is how it works, this is just my idea and my reason why low quality blogs reach pop reel.
