Want to know how to animate Armor? This tutorial will teach you how!

STEPS:
1. You'll need a picture editing program for this. I recommend using GIMP because it's easier. If you have one or the other installed, great! If you don't you want to download them here:
GIMP: [color=#34495e]https://www.gimp.org/downloads/[/color] (select your OS)
Paint.net: [color=#34495e]https://www.dotpdn.com/downloads/pdn.html[/color]
You can also use PhotoShop if you'd like.
2. Choose what your animating. I'm going to do the Diamond Chestplate, but you can do anything you'd like in your texture pack's "minecraft" folder.
3. Select an area for what your animating. Select the rectangle select tool on the left (SHIFT for multiple select!)
4. You need to figure out the width & height of the selected area. You can do this by heading to the left/right, into rectangle options and find W=? & H=?. Remember this #. (Mine is W=8 & H=11)
5. Same step as animating a item/block, figure out how many frames you want for your animation. For demonstration purposes, I will do 4.
6. Multiply your section's area by the frames you want. Type your # into the "Height" section.
7. Make a new page (Ctrl + N) Remove the background. You can find this in the layer section at the bottom right. *Note: For this step you must use GIMP because you can't change the size of a page is Paint.Net.
8. Copy the selection and paste it into the strip. You MUST put them beside each other! Do this step for the whole strip.
9. Start animating! For each edit, move to the next and the next (can do multiple edits on one frame!)
10. Once your done, export (Ctrl+SHIFT+E) it to your desktop. We'll need it later.
11. Make a folder named "optifine". Within that folder make another folder named "anim". This is short for animation. DO NOT WRITE "ANIMATION"!
12. Within that folder, cut & paste your animation's frames.
13. Here things get complex! Make a new text doc and name it whatever you want (I reccomend that you do <your material><armorpiece>anim.txt because if your doing multiple animations, you wont get mixed up.)
14. In that txt doc, write this code. (read carefully!!!) See img refer if your having trouble
In Y, you will put the bottom-right pixel of your selection
In W, you will put the width of your selection
In H, you will put the height of your selection
15. Once your done filling it out, press Ctrl+SHIFT+S and save it as a properties file. Make sure to remove the .txt! Put this .properties file into the anim folder
16. Your nearly done! Head back to your game and test your animation!
Here are some optional things you can do with your animation (the .properties file!)
If your animation is not working, you either have the code wrong, or your not using optifine.
