you see it a lot of times,
people joining a server, asking for op or a rankup. some do it to ruin the server, others because they dont know how to become staff, or what it means to be staff.
you also see people applying for staff, telling that they have a lot of knowledge about the plugins. its usefull if you know that, but it seems like they dont know what it is to be staff either.
so, what are responsibilities when you are staff?
1. you have to keep the players happy, so they stay and tell their friends.
2. you have to solve problems and fights, so the server is staying nice.
3. you have to remove hackers and griefers, no explanation needed.
4. you have to make sure new people will come in, after all you cant stop it that people will leave a time.
5. you have to make the server better all the time, a better server is more fun, more players, and more money for the owner! (which means that the server can be made better again.

Being staff and lying to the members on your own server is no good idea too.
It can cause many losing members;)
cant stop noticing that knowing plugins isnt everything you need for being staff.
ooh, dont forget to stay calm.
i have seen some loosing their temper quite fast:p
aint no good for your reputation.
you see that the ones with good staff members are more successfull then all the others out there.
for everyone who will see this, take a look at it when joining several servers.

just go on abuse tour, steal from players, grief homes, being a big jerk, abusing powers while banning other staff and kinda hacking a server. before you ragequit because the owner is coming on and finding out you was the person who got banned some days ago...
i just hope that people will learn from it^^
