Step 1: Build yourself a small base for the crane.  Build a 5 by 5 square of stone brick stairs and remove the corners.  Fill the middle with a 3 by 3 square of wood.  There should be four slabs poking up above the stone stairs at each corner of this square and there should be four wood blocks in the middle of each side of the smaller wood square.

Step 2: Next is the ‘neck’ of the crane.  Start with a tower of jungle wood three blocks tall.  Next identify two sides for the crane, on these place two fence posts up the jungle wood and add wood stairs the the top.  Next designate a front of the crane.  On this side place two fence panels on top of one another again however this time place a wood block on top of them.  Lastly you are left with one empty side of the jungle wood, this is the back.  Place one fence panel on the lowest jungle wood block, then wood stairs and finally an iron block.

Step 3: Now you should build the main body of the crane.  Firstly place three iron blocks in a line on either side of the crane above the wood stairs.  Now place a line of four iron blocks in the middle one layer up from the blocks you just placed, there should be an iron block overhanging on the front of the crane.  For the back, place an upside down wooden stair block in the iron block your placed earlier, then on top of this place another iron block, now the body of the crane should be finished.

Step 4: Time to build the arm of the crane.  Firstly place two slabs on the front two highest iron blocks of the body.  In front of the this place a full wood block followed by four slabs.  Under the upper part of the arm, place an iron block right at the end and then another two slabs behind it.  Fill the gaps between the lower halves of these iron blocks with more wood slabs.  Place one more wood slab under the lower slab closest to the body of the crane, this continues a ‘stepped’ look leading down to the neck of the crane.

Step 5: You have now finished the complicated bits! Next you have to add a tray to the crane.  For this place two iron fences under the iron block at the end of the arm of the crane.  At the base of the these two iron fences place a wood block.  Under this wood block add a 5 by 5 square of wood slabs.

Step 6: Decorate, add three redstone tracks to the back of the crane body.  The remainder of the iron blocks cover with trap doors.  You will not be able to cover every iron surface but try to cover as many as you can.  If you hollow out the crane body and place redstone torches inside the redstone tracks will glow at night and this looks amazing when used in an industrial area!!
