I as a story writer and generally active member of many communities making and producing products for the entertainment of others such as mods, texture packs, and stories, has noticed and more importantly become annoyed by people using the comment feature on many sites for what I feel as the wrong reason.

For example, if I write a story about a certain subject and it's a bad story (many of mine are and have been scrapped) the comment feature is so you can express your opinion on my work.

I think there are 3 MAIN types of comments:

  1. Constructive criticism

  2. Criticism

  3. Support

The point of this blog is to focus on the first two points.

An example of Criticism is...

OMG THIS STORY SUCKS D**K GO DIE YOU F*G!

This is criticism that in no way helps the writer or creator of the product.

Instead of writing comments like this you should instead write comments like...

This story is bad to improve you could add more detail when describing things.

Now this is criticism that I love to see. Not only does it show a way to improve the products it isn't hurtful to the creator.

I hope that you will take this advise on board when writing comments in the future to help planet minecraft and many other sites produce a better community.

A totally agree, and it is advice not advise. Or is it just another way of spelling it?
