The point at the beginning of a minecraft survival world is make a shelter and survive. Soon you will have plenty of wood cobble stone and dirt, food, a bed, a crafting table and a furnace. Everything you need to survive. But now you need to start mining!
One of the best places to find things is a Extream Hills biome, it is also the only place to find emeralds!

COAL- coal is one of the easiest to find, if you are in the Extream Hills biome just look on the mountains! If you are not you can look in any natural caves or hills to find some. Once you have a lot of coal don't pass it up when finding rarer things, it is a easy way to get lots of experience!

IRON- iron is also easy to find but really useful! You will find LOTS of iron just looking in natural caves! Once you star a mine you will also find lots of iron, don't pass it up it can be vary useful! One of the first things you should do with iron is make a iron pickax even if you have no iron left after. This should be one of the first thing you look for.

STARTING MINE- once have some iron and coal it is time to start a mine. To start you should dig down making steps alon the way all the way to bedrock. Once at bedrock press F3 to see your level. Go up your stairs until you reach level 9 then start digging straight to the left or the right. Then once you have a tunnel comming off your stairs you need to go back to the stairs and dig on the sides of the tunnel dig once on each side after every 2 blocks. This is the best mine I could make. ( I will post pictures soon)

GOLD- gold is harder to find then iron but a little easier then diamond. You should be able to find plenty of gold using your mine. But Anouther good way to find gold is caves. (Do not waist your gold on any tools it is not good for that!)

DIAMOND- diamond is one of the hardest to find! You should e able to find some in your mine. Use caves too.

EMERALD- emeralds is one of the hardest to find! It can only be found in a Extream hills biome! If you are in the right biome you should find them in your mines. Or caves.

LAPIS LUZULUI- defiantly one the least important ores. It is also pretty hard to find. The best place to look is caves.

REDSTONE- redstone will get easy to find but you. Should still mine it. You should find plenty of it in your mine or in caves.

THINGS YOU NEED TO MINE- if you are going to go mining you should bring
- a few iron pick axes if you have them ( stone if you don't have iron)
- a diamond pickaxe - plenty of food
- a chest (store things before entering a cave)
- a sword
- about 64 torches
- at least one bucket of water ( pour on lava to make a path)
-you could bring TNT and flint and steel -any potions you think would be helpful

TNT MINING- you could use TNT in areas you think might have ores a quick way to mine

CAVES AND STRONGHOLDS- go in any caves and strong holds you can it. Is a great way to find rare things!
