Here I show how to get more mob drops using a bow and a looting 3 sword. If you can't watch the video what you have to do is shoot the mob with your bow and before the arrow hits the mob switch to your looting 3 sword before it kills the mob which will save durability and be able to get more drop using a bow which IMO should be an intake enchant on the bow.
