How to get the default texture pack of current minecraft version

Getting The Default Texture Pack


You know, to make a texture pack, you must have the default texture pack first. but after you look in your minecraft texture pack folder, you can't find a default texture pack right?. now im gonna tell you how to get it :)

1. Goto %appdata% (C:Documents and Settings%userprofiles%Application Data *windows XP*), then goto .minecraft, open bin, then open Minecraft.jar with WinRAR.

2. It should look like this

3. Drag These to a folder

4. now you can edit that default texture pack to make your own texture pack :D

I recommend you to use paint.NET to edit the texture pack, you can download it here. dont worry its free

But I can't open it because I don't have WinRAR! I'm too lazy to buy it.

Also, I do have a program that came with my modding software called Gimp.

I did, but planet minecraft deleted it.

Or you can also using GIMP. But things that cost something are usually the best ones.
