Hello There!

Just giving a basic introduction to this and my future blogs. My name is James, I own a

server named Orbitcraft (Search it up), and I want to share some info about having a large and noticible server.

So Enjoy!

Lets start up at the very bare of having a good server:

1. Make sure that you have a fun expierence for your players, and have at least 20-40 slots for starting

2. Make a nice spawn

- Having one will give good first impressions to your users.

3. Have a nice banner and picture on Advertisements

- (Such as PlanetMinecraft, MCserverlist, etc).

4. Do not have too many staff/mods.

A: When I join a server with around 20 players playing on it, I would like 1-4 mods to be helping out. If you have over half of the players mods, theres a problem.

B: Make sure your moderators are trusted and are not goofballs, if a player really wants to become a moderator Make sure that they know what they are doing, and have expierence in the server commands.

5. Patch all exploits that are on the server:

- For a example, lets say you have multiworld and have a Survival world AND a creative world. More Players will join because there is a larger selection of gameplay. Many Admins have been shutting down their creative world because of the enderchest exploit. Somebody has a enderchest in creative, fills it with diamonds and/or whatever they want, then have one in survival and get a bunch of stuff. This leads to a living hell in greifing; Which is my next subject. How to solve this is to use Worldguard blacklist so players cannot place enderchests in creative.

6. Greifing and how to solve it

- Greifing is a Major problem in servers, in many ways thats why Server Admins promote moderators. Getting a plugin to track block placement is a very good idea (Such as: Logblock, Hawkeye). Give Moderators those powers and teach them how to use it.

I hope that list was helpful!

To get your server noticed is timing. Timing is very important with your server. This will cover timing on Plant Minecraft. When you update your server, Make sure that The cache is refreshed before you update it, because in that case a bunch of servers would be on top of yours on the "Recently Updated" list! So right when you see new servers on the list, Bump yours! Also use common sense to realise what time Players would be playing. Your best bet would be at the evening, so bump your server then.

I hope that you enjoyed this blog and I may be adding more; but for the time being,

See you Later!
