If you are looking for a command for giving yourself or other players a status effect, you came to the right page! Trust me, this is super easy stuff!
Command Format: /effect <player name> <effect ID> <duration> <power>
Example: /effect Notch 10 180 2 (This command gives Notch Rengeration III for 180 seconds)
And that's it! You can also type this in the Command Block for custom maps, but that's the basics for /effect. Here's a list of effect IDs below:
1 - Speed 12 - Fire Resistance
2 - Slowness 13 - Water Breathing
3 - Haste 14 - Invisibility
4 - Mining Fatigue 15 - Blindness
5 - Strength 16 - Night Vision
6 - Instant Health 17 - Hunger
7 - Instant Damage 18 - Weakness
8 - Jump Boost 19 - Poison
9 - Nausea 20 - Wither
10 - Regeneration 21 - Health Boost
11 - Resistance 22 - Absorption
23 - Saturation
