Hello, I am BubbleRap12 and today i will be showing you how to make a book and quill on minecraft 1.3.

First off you are going to need a book, now normaly you would just grab some suger cane, make some paper and craft a book, BUT the crafting recipe for a book has changed D: *gasp* now you need some leather aswell as the normal 3 paper. so go skipping around in the wilderness untill you come across a cow or two, if there are multiply cows I advise leading them back to ur home with wheat so you can breed them but if you are unlucky and forgot to take some wheat on your adventure then just kill the cows and pray you get some leather.

Next you are going to have to take your paper and leather and to a crafting table and make a book (you can actually do this in your inventorys 2x2 crafting grid as you only need 4 spaces) the books recipe is shapless so just slap down the items onto the grid in any which way you desire and *Poof* you have made a book!

Lastly you need to go adventuring again but this time to find a chicken and a squid because to make a book and quill you need 1. a book (duh), 2. a feather, and 3. an ink sack. Chickens are usually found in groups so bring some wheat with you and try to lure them back to your house to breed them or if you forgot some wheat AGAIN then *sigh* just kill'em. Now you have to find a squid which is very easy as squids are found in nearly every river, pond or ocean in the world of minecraft so finding water = finding squids. So once you have got your book, feather and ink sack, take them to a crafting table (or your inventorys crafting grid) again and craft a book and quill using another shapless recipe and you have made yourself a book and quill that has up to 50 pages and around 256 characters per page.
