The first step to making a successful blog is finding a topic.

Finding the correct topic can make or break your blog.

If you write it on something popular or to a specific fan-base, you will have a higher chance of your blog getting noticed.

If you write it on, for example, "What I had for dinner tonight", it most likely will not get any attention, as no one really cares what you had for dinner.

Also, make it on something that you have some knowledge on, and you are able to debate it/defend your point easily.

The second thing you will want to do it make your cover picture.

You will want to make it good, because, aside from the title, the picture is the only thing that members have as reference as what your blog is about.

So please, when making a blog about, let's say, Skins, please do not use a picture of a TexturePack. You need to make your image appropriate with your blog's content.

I suggest you use Adobe Photoshop, but Paint.net or GIMP will work fine also

The next step is to outline your blog.

I suggest writing this all down on paper, or typing it on a word application.

I would first take your topic and write down some key points that you want to focus on.

We will call these your "Focal Points"

Next, you want to take your focal points, and underneath them, write down some information on those points.
I would make sure you have at least 4 points of information for each focal point.

Then, figure out what order you want your focal points to be in

Now, it is time to write your first draft!

Start a new PMC blog page and type in your topic into the "Title" line.

Next, start taking your focal points and typing them out.

After that, start writing down your points of information for each focal point.

After that is all done, it is time to read through your blog and see if there are any spelling/grammar errors.

If there are done, move onto the next step.

If there are some, fix them and move on.

In this step, you will start making your blog more of a blog, and less of an outline.

Go ahead and start forming sentences with your points of information.

Make sure it all runs smoothly together, and the spelling/grammar is correct.

All that is left it to put on your finishing touches!

I suggest that, if you have a big wall of text, use either the Headliners or the Spoilers (like I did) to break it down and make it easier to find the different sections.

Then, you can do whatever you want!

Make some things bold or underlined, make some text different colors, Hyperlink stuff, anything you want.

But be warned!

Don't over-do it. If you over-do the editing, it might turn out cheesy/unprofessional

So use it, but be sparing in it.
