I realised this when I got the 64x64 texturepack HD realism and my game was very laggy. So I minimised my screen and stretched it to fit onto my my whole computer/laptop and the game fit full screen and was less laggy!
So next time you have a detailed texturepack remember to minimise and stretch out your minecraft screen and it becomes less laggy.
