Firstly, I wrote this article since many people on my server can't get on due to the update.
Anyway, here is the tutorial.
How to update Tekkit.
From the launcher, click the options button. From the options window, choose to get the latest development updates. Close the window and sign in to Minecraft as usual. You should get a message saying that a new update is available, click yes. Tekkit will update and start when it is done.
