I found a Mysterious Well in a desert

So,
I Go on Minecraft today and and start a new world. the fist thing I do is climb a mountain and look around. What I saw was a thing that looked like a portal, in the desert. I wait a few Minecraft day till I go and look at it, and what I found was a well in the middle of nowhere.

Jeb added it in 1.2 as a little water hole like an oasis except more man made, it is a good way to get free water in the desert!
