Intro.
Being in a Middle School in Austin, Texas, I see a lot of people judging people just on looks or what they like or how they express themselves. People hide what they love a lot because they feel that people will judge them and say how they're girly and make fun of them because of that.
Me.
I am one of those people. I love My Little Pony so much, yet, now, you may be thinking, "Huh. He's a Girl." See. Judgement. Because I said I loved My Little Pony, you probably assumed I was a girl. I hide this from the public, because I am one of those people who blends in and tries to make friends with people who are very much different from me, and I do not want to be made fun of because I told somebody I love My Little Pony, and have it spread all over the school, then be made fun of and hurt emotionally.
Why people judge people and make fun of them.
1) Those people who make fun of people after saying something [they like is] possibly "girly" or "manly(for the women)" probably feel that same way, yet, don't want to hurt their reputation either, so, to not "hurt" their reputation, they laugh at it like as if they never liked it all, like they were just like other people.
2) Those people are huge jerks who try to take what is or can be humiliating and use it against the person who just did that action to have them less "popular."
How you can stop it.
Find someone you trust, say its a popular guy who isn't a bully, have him tell them that it's wrong to pick on people on what they like. Say it's a teacher, have him tell them that their participants could also like whatever that person who was picked on liked as well. Say you have no hope or friends, Find another school. These people are worth nothing of your time if you have no one as a friend or is at all friendly towards you.
