For me being a teenager who plays Minecraft which doesn't exactly make you one of the quote unquote "Cool" kids(In my opinion that whole cool kid thing is a stupid ideology but that is for a whole different post ;P.) I often get the "I don't know what people see in that game it is just a game of blocks." Yes I know shame on thee who dares to even think those words. I have decided to make an article to show why I still play Minecraft after all these years.
To me Minecraft is more then a block game. It is a game with infinite possibilities ex. plugins, mods. etc. Since there is obviously confusion on why people like the game so much I decided to make an article on putting this to rest...for now.
1: Plugins. Most people who play Minecraft play on servers with plugins whether they know what plugins are or not. Minigames are amazing, and I am definitely not the only one who thinks this. Going on Hypixel or Mineplex(List which one is your favorite in the comments, I am curious) and playing with some friends whilst being in a skype call taunting each other on how bad they fail is so enjoyable. Playing factions and not knowing what is going to happen next is a thrill that I live for. Plugins make up so much of the minecraft server community and the ideas for them are endless.
2:Mods. May I just say CrazyCraft is amazing. The greatest time is when you are playing a modpack that has a live server. You are playing with other people with a minecraft extension, so a lot of people have no idea what they are doing, and they are noobs just like when you first start playing minecraft. You have warfare,magic,zombies, and the list goes on. It just shows that minecraft is a game that can transform into anything!
3: Sometimes both are in one. Mods, and Plugins. Try playing a warfare modpack, and then on top of that factions. Do you know what that equals....AWESOMENESS. Or playing a server with a Skyblock plugin, but on top of that they have Tekkit. It gives you so many more challenges then regular Skyblock because you won't get bored nearly as easily.
As you see Minecraft is not just a block game, and these points that I have listed are so truthful. They completely blow the "Just a block game" argument out of the water. Minecraft to me is beyond a game. It is a starting point for something great you can add to, and a lot of people agree. If Minecraft was "Just a block game" no one would be playing it like people are now.
