intro

happy halloween everyone! i'm on trick or treat duty this year, so my evening is going to be spend handing out candy to kids but i hope everyone who has a more exciting day planned enjoys it. nonetheless i still have to do a mod post, for what i hope is a suitably spooky mod for you all.

what is bewitchment?

bewitchement is a mod all about magic, if you couldn't have guessed. it's also the 2.0 for the mod witchery. it's incredibly expansive since it adds vampires, werewolves, familiars, demons, curses, flying brooms, and so much more. it's one of my favourite mods myself and that's why i saved it for halloween.

likes

rituals

i personally like any mod that makes the gameplay more immersive then just always using a crafting table and this mod does that extensively. you draw out ritual circles with chalk after referencing the book of shadows, this allows you do such things as even summon demons which you can make deals with.

book of shadows

speaking of the book of shadows, i adore any mod with an in game guide which this one does. stuff can get pretty complicated here what with all the rituals and curses but the guide helps immensely. it's also easy to craft with it just being a book and a mandrake root which you can find by just breaking grass. the fact you can pretty much get started in this mod by just breaking grass in general is fantastic.

dislikes

it's very complicated

you know how a few sentences i said that this mod can get complicated? well, it really can and while do generally enjoy the complicated-ness i understand how it could be confusing for someone else. while technically the amount of steps to become a vampire isn't as much as it was in older versions it's still more intricate then other mods and while i do find this process more rewarding it can still be discouraging seeing all the steps. with mods like this i'd recommend setting a goal for yourself, to say get a specific item or creature and just work towards that. since there is also so much depth to this mod.

final thoughts

bewitchment is one of my favourite mods, it goes above and beyond with it's dedication to witchcraft and it's plenty of fun to explore. it's perfect for halloween but it's also great for anytime since witches aren't a halloween exclusive. i'd recommend this mod to everyone!
