Please Note: The following fanfic was written before the events of season 15 (Seabound). If anything happens in the show afterwards that contradicts this story, it should just be accepted as an alternate universe.

Seliel met up with Pixal at Borg Tower and the two got to work. Seliel opened her flash drive on the main computer to show what she came up with for padding and along with her ideas for tech she wanted to use. The two spent the day discussing ideas and bouncing ideas back and forth. In the end, Seliel convinced Pixal to stay as close to the blueprints she previously designed a few days earlier, though with a few minor adjustments.
“Now that the design is settled, we should be all set to get building as soon as tomorrow. As long as you find the design satisfactory.” Pixal said.
“The fact that it’s close enough to my original blueprints, I’d say it’s good enough.” Seliel said.

Seliel stood at the design in amazement. Sure, her blueprints were good yet how much progress the two made in one day was impressive. Her blueprints were basic and simple while the ones that she and the droid made were detailed and exact.
“Hey, droid!” Seliel said, getting Pixal’s attention.
“Pixal!” Pixal replied in a playful annoyance.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. I just wanted to say thanks for your help.”
Pixal’s eyes widened in response.
“Oh, I guess you’re welcome.” Pixal said, still taken aback at what Seliel told her.

The next few days Seliel spent adding the adjustments to her suit, while Pixal would occasionally pop in to give assistance when Seliel had no idea what to do with certain parts. Pixal was just about to return to the monastery when she heard a voice behind her.
“Hey, wait up!” Seliel yelled from down the hallway. Once she ran up beside Pixal she continued to speak.
“I finished adding everything and wanted to let you know. Maybe tomorrow we could test it out. Perhaps a battle of the suits?”
“I just finished repairing my suit and you asking me to risk damaging it, in order to test yours out. I’d prefer not.” Pixal replied.
“Fine.” Seliel said with a defeated sigh.
“There is a testing lab, so you can test its abilities there. I could set up the simulator for you if you’d like?”
“A simulator? Sounds fun, can’t wait to put it to the test, see you tomorrow droid.” Seliel said, while walking in her separate direction while waving towards Pixal.

As much as Pixal still got slightly annoyed at the fact Seliel called her droid, it didn’t bother her as much. Since it seemed to have become more of a nickname, Seliel no longer called her droid out of spite but rather it was said in a similar tone to how Cole would call Zane Pinky. So Pixal grew to accept the fact that droid was just her nickname with Seliel. She returned to the monastery.
“Hey Pix” Lloyd and Jay said.
“Where are the others?” Pixal asked.
“They're dealing with minor crimes around the city. We knew you were busy, so we didn’t want to bother you. Plus, there are just minor crimes.” Lloyd replied.
“How did it go? Any new inventions?” Jay asked.
“Nothing new, but Seliel finished her suit. We're planning to use the simulator in order to test it in different situations.” Pixal replied.
“You seem to be getting along a lot better with Seliel now. Zane mentions you talk about her almost every day as if she was an old friend. Not to mention, Cole is surprised he’s never got called back to supervise.” Lloyd commented.
“We barely interact though, the most we communicate is at the end of the day right before we head our separate ways.” Pixal pointed out.
“From what I’ve heard Seliel is someone that likes to keep to herself most of the time. If she just lets you work beside her in silence without getting annoyed it’s a good sign. She may never admit it but she appears to see you as a friend, at least based on what I’ve heard.” Lloyd stated.

Pixal processed the information, just as the rest of the ninja walked through the door. Kai went on to explain the battle he had like it was a grand adventure. When in reality Pixal knew it was quite possibly far from the truth. A few hours later, everyone decided to call it a night.

“How is the training simulator?” Pixal asked.
“Online.” The main computer replied.
Pixal had spent the entire morning making sure every simulator to help Seliel test out the effectiveness of her suit was up and running.
“Hey, droid.” Seliel said as she entered Borg’s office.
“What’s up first?” Seliel continued.
“I’ve set up multiple simulators to ensure the effectiveness of your suit. It will also send notifications to the system if any malfunctions occur.” Pixal said.
“Alright, then droid. I’ll follow you.”

Pixal led Seliel to the testing floor, from there she directed Seliel towards a room and spoke:
“I will control the simulator from out here. Along with having an outside view of how things are going. I would also like to add the droids in the room are easily fixable, so there’s no need to worry about giving your full force.”
“Don’t worry I’m not afraid of scrapping droids” Seliel commented with a grin.

Seliel stepped into the room and gave a wave to Pixal signalling she was ready. Then Pixal pushed the button to start the simulation. In an instant four droids surrounded Seliel. She made note of how her helmet showed how many enemies were behind her. She proceeded to throw a smoke pellet on the floor, then slashed each of the droids until all that stood in the room was her.
“The sensors seem to help.” Seliel said while exiting the room.
“Not to mention. Nothing seemed wrong on my end. Are you ready for the next test?” Pixal asked.
“Ready!” Seliel said determinedly.
The two moved to another room with what appeared to be many heaters.
“Don’t tell me this is to test the heat vision and the suits heat durability?” Seliel asked sarcastically.
“Correct, but…” Pixal added yet was cut off.
In an instance, Seliel was in the room ready to go.
“Don’t say I didn’t try to warn you. “Pixel mumbled to herself.

Pixal pressed the buttons to start. Slowly the temperature in the room began to increase.
“68°F, 86°F, 98 °F, 100°F” Pixel said reading off the computer.

Once the room reached its max temperature, Pixel pressed a button on her helmet and a form in armour appeared behind Seliel. All while Seliel stood pleased realizing her suit was withstanding the heat. The form approached Seliel from behind, then punched her in the back. Seliel was sent flying across the room, then hit the wall. Pixal entered the room in a hurry to make sure Seliel was alright. That was until Seliel leaped up jumping towards the form that attacked her. In an instance, Seliel had the form pinned with the helmet falling off. Once she realized who she had pinned, however, her emotions changed to a mix of confusion and anger.
“Cole? What the heck!” Seliel shouted.
“Pixal told me to help with this, saying if you knew the simulation wouldn’t get the same result.” Cole said.
“What!” Seliel shouted, getting off of Cole and storming towards Pixal. Then continued the shout, this time at Pixal:
“You did this! Are you trying to get me killed droid!”
“I did tell Cole to surprise you in the simulator however, my intentions weren’t to get you injured or killed. Your heat vision is also connected to your detectors, as a result, you were supposed to detect the different forms of heat all around you.” Pixal replied.
“Then why don’t you have Cole stand behind me, not punch me into a wall.” Seliel said furiously.
“Then it wouldn’t be realistic for what you plan to use it for.Though I believe there may have been a misunderstanding for how hard he was to punch you.” Pixal said.
“In what world am I going to have to fight someone in crazy hot temperatures?”
“Fights in a volcano, a boiling room, shall I go on.”
“Whatever you say droid.”
“The readings from the simulation were saved to the system, so you can see the faults yourself.”

Seliel said nothing, then returned to her office to pull up the readings. Once she closed the door and sat down, Seliel whispered to herself:
“Stupid droids, good for nothing but getting people hurt.”
“Hey Seliel, can we talk?” Cole asked from outside her office.
“Yeah whatever come in.”
“Listen Seliel, Pixal was only trying to help. If anything, it was my fault for punching you into a wall. I came here to apologize for that. I’m sorry.”
“Great, is that it?”
“Seliel.”
“What?”
“What’s wrong? You’ve been caught off guard before, so why is this time any different.”
“I don’t live in Ninjago City for starters.”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
“I mean I don’t have to deal with half of the crazy stuff you deal with.”

Cole was about to say something but was cut off by Seliel:
“All I deal with are small crimes, and when it’s anything bigger than that you and the ninja come to help.”
“Okay… I get it” Cole said understandingly then, continued:
“I’ll go talk to Pixal so I won’t have to punch you again.”
“Thanks Cole.” Seliel said, the anger gone from her voice.

Just as Cole was about to head towards Borg’s office, Seliel spoke:
“Also tell the droid to come here, please.”
Cole nodded his head and headed off.

Fun fact: Chapter 12 was the hardest chapter for me to write. Not because I didn’t know where I wanted the story to go but because I couldn’t come up with ways to test the suit. As a result, I asked my trusted brother for help. His ideas are what appeared in the story!
