They should add to minecraft something to fly.
Like a Jetpack or Plane like in Tekkit.

Battery: You can make the fuel high if you put it in a furnace.

Jetpack: You can make the fuel high if you use the Battery's on jetpack. ( Furnace. )

I reckon you should either be able to make a wing suit out of feathers or bats drop bat wings and you could use them to brew potions of flight

minecraft is more in the medieval times when they did not have that stuff so i think its better as a mod
