I stumbled upon a rock one day
and fell into a trench,
I landed in some water
and saw a little bench.

I sat on the little bench
and took a look around,
and there, on the top of the trench
guess who I found:

a kind, pretty girl
with hair like a diamond sword's shine,
she helped me up out of the trench
and asked if I wanted to dine.

That night, the music played
on the jukebox quiet,
the girl, Rose, looked at me
and then I realized I knew it.

She had a glimmer in her eyes
and a smile like a happy vex,
and then she hugged and kissed me
and soon what came next:

One year after this day
we became married,
we rode home in our flying machine
and got a dog named Harry

Fast-forward twenty years
and still living on,
an old man, with a paper
and a wife, who is gone.

However, what still puzzles me
when I first fell in the trench,
why on Earth, and how on Earth
was there a little bench?
