This is my first article, and it's a controversial one. Many of you are or should be aware of MCBans and the awesome power it boasts in the fashion of ruining the reputations of fair-game-players who were wrongfully banned over whatever misunderstanding or conflagration.
Anyone who has been banned from any server will know that if that server has MCBans every MCBans server will know you. Therefore if one of the many underage and undesirable admins has banned anyone for any reason whatsoever, an innocent player's reputation with MCBans users everywhere is destroyed.
I've been banned several times, at least 10 times from 10 different servers. My first ban was for having diamond blocks in my inventory (???). Sadly I'm always mixed-in with admins who are either 5-years-old or they're mentally unstable; we've all met admins like that. Anyway MCBans has my name tattooed all over themselves, after a LAN party with some friends of mine the server we were playing on went into lock-down; people were getting kicked left and right, players were complaining about getting greifed, etc. Our first tactic was to arm ourselves with diamond armor and tools to defend ourselves from the greifers. Sadly the admin was tp-ing to everyone to check them for greifing, guess who he teleported to first? Apparently four friends with diamond outfits is a serious Minecraft omen.
Afterwards we were global-band. Following the misunderstanding my account has been removed from Minecraft.net and it's impossible to login to. My leading theory is that MCBans was capable of destroying it completely.
Bottom line: MCBans is a poor service that is poorly-managed and far from foolproof. It's unreliable and unstable, and I encourage every citizen of Minecraftia to avoid servers that use it.
Sorry MCBans, but "A Global Banning Solution" is not a credible slogan. In fact the entire sentence is hoax; there's nothing "global" about it, many players are "bann(ed)" wrongly and falsely-accused, and above all your service is NOT a solution of any kind. Simply an endless list of greifers with a sprinkle of the Andy Dufranes of Minecraft.
I hope I can spread the message about MCBans and its incredible false-positive rate.
