I've used pipecleaners to make a number of action figures based on my characters and those of others, and I thought it would be neat to do a Minecraft series of toys. All my figures I design to be very posable and durable so you can actually play with them, and I kinda pride myself on never using any glue.

For this action figure, I used a special kind of Christmas-themed stem that was a mix of greens and white with just a bit of gold tinsel. It's such a rare kind of pipecleaner that I couldn't buy more of it even if I had money, so I was hesitant to use it at first, but what's the point in buying stuff like that if you never intend to use it?

The first version I made of this was off, and at first I thought it was because it was too round, but it was actually because its body was too long. So I transferred that extra length from the body to the legs, and I think it looks a lot better now even though the proportions are still incorrect. At worst, it looks kinda like it's from the Mutant Creepers mod, and if you have it squat down, it looks a lot more like a vanilla Creeper. The longer legs can ultimately be chalked up to artistic interpretation of a character that was abstract in the first place, and I'm very pleased with how ghostly and, well, creepy the face came out.

Here's what we know about Minecraft's most notorious mob:

One of the most common sights in the Voxel Badlands, the Creeper is a beast whose four legs allow it to carefully and silently approach unwary travelers. Once it is upon them, it hisses for only about a single second and then detonates, ripping its target and the landscape to shreds with its blast. This seems to be its only form of attack and defense, which it executes in blatant defiance of any self-preservation instinct, so its means of reproduction were a mystery until one of the oldest explorers of the badlands reported that it was "crunchy, like dry leaves". Though many people lost their lives while attempting to confirm this, it was ultimately verified, suggesting that the Creeper is actually a form of mobile vegetation that explodes to scatter its seeds or spores, similar to Eucalyptus and Sandbox trees. Based on this information, it is now believed that the Creeper originated in Australia and migrated to the Voxel Badlands through means presently unknown.

Wandering minstrels and bards have written many songs about the danger that Creepers pose. One of the most well-known ones is called "Revenge", a Minecraft parody of Usher's "DJ's Got Us Fallin In Love" performed by TryHardNinja and Captain Sparklez.
