Okay it has come to my attention that aparently everybody has forgoten about the Alpha days in Minecraft..... I never see any more beta servers, Alpha mods, Alpha texture packs anymore.

--------------------------------------------WHAT I MISS--------------------------------------------------
  • Pigs didn't make eye contact (wait they never do)
  • Hunger didn't matter
  • Pork was the only meat source
  • Spider Jockeys were alive
  • you can punch sheep and you get about 4 wool
  • Hacked clients were at a minimum
  • The mojang title on startup was blue
  • The lighting was crap (in the good way XD)
  • No weather
  • No special Minecart rails (I loved using the powered Minecart)
  • Bukkit was just starting out
  • The nether wasen't even available in multiplayer since 1.6
  • HEROBRINE HAUNTED MINECRAFTIA

Mojang - I like what you did with the updated but I really liked your alpha build :)
C418 - your music in minecraft sounded amazing! I kinda like the new music disks!

I thibk you're right, the new updates are shit and new blocks are unneccesary and No i would NOT join your alpha server because i play on other servers too and it would be a pain in the ass switching .jars all the time.

You are right, alpha was the best version ever. They added so much useless things in the new versions. If you create an alpha server, I'm in. Reminds me so much stuff. My minecraft username is james222. I dont remember the tutorial level. What alpha version is this?


PS: I love to use powered minecarts, today, they dont even know how to use them.


PS (again): You should try to contact mojang so they give you minecraft_server alpha and the client.

How would I join the alpha server? I only played since 1.9 Pre Release, But I played a bit during alpha too. Plus I've watched alot of videos back during alpha and heard alot of stories about herobrine, and I'm dying to actually encounter one so i'm looking for a mod ._. But if you had a alpha server does this mean herobrine would be in it?I would def play :3

I don't think herobrine was around during alpha, I think that was a beta thing, gotta read more about that, and to join the alpha server, you would need to download & install the alpha.jar into your bin folder

Where would I find an alpha.jar DL? And would I delete minecraft.jar and replace it with the alpha.jar? and is there a beta.jar? Or beta type jar file to go to the beta ages? I'm really interested in finding herobrine. :3

Oh, and one major thing you forgot is the Minecraft logo.It was made out of cobblestone.

The Minecraft logo back in alpha was made out of cobblestone, and now it's stylized.Also, the Mojang AB logo was purple with a tint of blue.
