The name of his company is Mojang, which is Swedish for 'gadget'. Besides Minecraft, the 40-person company also develops Scrolls and Cobalt.

  Minecraft has two primary game modes: Creative Mode and Survival Mode. In creative mode, you can build anything you want with unlimited resources. In survival mode, you have to gather resources and fight off monsters.

  However, Minecraft isn't just about surviving alone. Most people prefer playing on multiplayer servers with others. Servers offer many different kinds of experiences from fighting to the death to the death to runnig a shop to competing in mini-games.You can even run your own server.

  In Minecraft, every player has their own skin and username. A skin is a layer of designs applied onto the player model. You can make your own skin by downloading the default "Steve" (or "Alex" as of 1.8) skin and editing it with the drawing software of your choice. You can also download a skin made by someone else from a website like PMC. A username is the name you choose to be identified by in-game.

  There are also Minecraft community websites such as PMC filled with huge communities of Minecrafters. On those sites you can discuss the game, share skins mods texture packs or worlds, and more!
