Whether it's because you don't like the new updates to the game, or because 7-year-old kids flooded online gaming, Minecraft isn't relevant anymore. I really don't know why, but I hardly ever hear about anything related to Minecraft anywhere. Remember when every video on YouTube had at least one Minecraft video in the list of related videos? How did the popularity of this game die off so suddenly?
I personally found Minecraft a lot more fun before experience points and enchantments were added to the game. The game was a lot less linear and hardly anyone ever talked about Minecraft losing its charm. Updates were quite frequent at the time compared to today.
The image above is a screenshot I took on my phone on March 9, 2013 for the website's statistics. You can notice that the average amount of people online has dropped over the years.

That is true.

Heck, they killed Banjo & Kazooie and Conker, wouldn't be surprised if Minecraft was next.

Also, your article is quite true, but isn't everything like this? How long did Rainbow Loom or whatever the heck that braclet making thing is called last? Like, 5 months at the most? Everything is the raves for awhile, but soon the world moves on. Minecraft has lasted a long time, but maybe its time has finally come. Silly bands? 3 months? Pokemon? Still has some raves, but not as much as it used to. Simpsons? Everything has its time, but everything also goes the way of the dodo.

A new generation of gamers has come into this world of creativity. What do they do with it? Some continue its creativity, others just use it, and some destroy it. Our society is changing. People these days want stuff to be there for them, no questions asked as to why or how. It's just there. But what happens when they tire of those things? They crave more from us, the creative players who slowly lose hope for this world of creativity that was once ours. We are expected to somehow whip up something new and ingenius-something greater than the last.

The game itself is evolving into something new and unknown. Where it leads is hard to see, but time will tell its fate. What was once a building game with no direction has turned into a quest. The dragon that has waited for us now holds a key to something bigger than its End. The game's community ever so slowly turns into something that of stone-still and cold and dead.

The End is nigh, but which is closer?
