Minecraft LAG question...

OKAAAYYYYYY well here's the thing, I really want DokuCraft, but my game tends to lag even on normal using a 16x16.
I just got HighSpeed internet today, it was like 2 mbps, now its around 28 mbps... So here's the question, does the high speed internet affect the lag at all of is the lag only based around the fact that I only have 2 gb of ram on my CPU... :( Please help!!! Thanks

i have 2 gb of ram as well, but i can run up to 128x128 texture packs... do you have any mods installed?

Ugh, I don't think so... Honestly I don't know how to do that. What processor do u have? Also, mods can cause epic lag if you have a lot of them installed
