MINECRAFT STORY!

Written for Minecraft addicts.

One day Sahara was playing in her garden with her dog Barney. They were playing with a ball. Sahara would throw the ball for Barney and he would catch it and start barking crazily. Sahara kept on repeating the process and laughing every time. One time Sahara threw the ball and it suddenly disappeared into thin air. Sahara rubbed her eyes and looked in the bushes but she couldn’t find it. “Where is your ball Barney? Be a good boy and sniff it out.” Sahara asked Barney but even with Barneys great nose did not even find the ball. “I wonder where it went…” Sahara wondered to herself. One time she walked across the lawn and the air in front of her seemed to shimmer. Sahara stopped and reached out a hand…And her hand completely disappeared! She kept on drawing her hand in and out, in and out and it kept on disappearing! Sahara groped around the shimmering air and felt a sort of edge. She grabbed it and pulled it outwards and a sort of window appeared! Sahara steeped back and then went to inspect the window. She put her eye up to the window and saw a shimmering haze of purple and she could reach into it as well. Then Sahara came up with an idea. What if it was a window to another world? She had heard of them from the boys at school. It certainly looked like the ‘window’ the boys described. She could quickly jump in, have a look around then come back. With no other thoughts she pulled the “window” wide and hopped into it.

Sahara found herself spinning around, Falling through a purple vortex like Alice would have done once she had fallen down the rabbit hole. Sahara was spinning so fast that anything other than the purple would have just been a colourful blur. Sahara reached out and tried to grab the purple stuff but it slipped through her hand like water. Soon Sahara could see a bright light up ahead but when she reached out everything went black.
When Sahara woke up it was daytime. Sahara pulled herself up but when she looked around she was in for a terrible surprise! EVERYTHING I REPEAT EVERYTHING was made of blocks. The grass, The cliffs,The sand, The trees. Everything was made of blocks. Sahara even saw a pink blocky thing in the distance and decided it must be a pig. Sahara even checked if her body was made of blocks and it sadly was. Sahara cried for a bit then picked herself up and decided to look for other humanlike forms of life. She looked for a while till it looked like it was going to rain then she sheltered under an overhang till’ the storm had mostly cleared up. Walking through the drizzle and fog Sahara cried again. But after a while she saw a strange silhouette it didn’t look anything like the Block-Pigs or Block-Sheep or Block-Cows or Block-Duckthingys or Block-Horses and Block-Donkeys she had seen earlier today, it looked like a human or a Block-Man but most importantly it looked like her. The Block-Man seemed to be cutting down a tree with a tool of some sort so Sahara called to him. “HEY YOU! BLOCK-MAN! OVERHERE! The Block-Man looked up, changed his tool and walked warily up to Sahara. When he got closer there seemed to be a box hanging above his head. In the box was the word “Steve”. “Who are you? And why are you here?” he asked “Um who are you?” asked Sahara back, not answering his question. “Well, I’m Steve obviously so you must be Saha- Sahe- um how do you pronounce that?” Steve asked “I’m Sahara. Mum says it is one if the easiest names so I do not know why you are having trouble saying it. And also, do I have a name tag above my head like you do?” Sahara said “yes. Yes you do. Everyone has it. Now second question where are you from?” Asked Steve “first you tell me where we are.” Demanded Sahara “FINE! We are in Minecraft. It’s quite strange that you asked that because everyone knows where and what Minecraft is.” Answered Steve “umm well I don’t. I am from Eaerth 1980. I think I came here through a Window-Portal I think but I’m not quite sure because there have never been any Portals on Eaerth before...I think.” Said Sahara. “OK well you are in Computer version Minecraft. Not Ipad version.” Steve said “Ipad? Computer? Is this a GAME? Do you mean a COM? How can a COM have games on it? COMs are only for scientific work and stuff like that. And what on Eaerth is an Ipad?” Asked Sahara feeling quite baffled. “Um it’s like a touch screen pad. Like the screen of a Computer.” Steve said. “Touch screen?! What are you talking about?!” Sahara yelled. “SHHH! Look Sahara we had better go. It’s getting dark.” Steve walked a few paces and then motioned to Sahara to follow. “I’ve got a horse and a donkey up ahead. Sorry you will have to go on the donkey but it will take us to the house quicker.” Steve explained. They walked for about five

minutes before reaching and horse and a donkey near a tree. Then they mounted their animal and set off. Sahara had only ridden a horse twice so she felt a bit weird in the saddle but she was ok. After about ten minutes Sahara could see a shape through the coming darkness. “Is that The House?” Asked Sahara. “Yes it is. We spent ages building it. It took us about two weeks!”Said Steve “wow that’s quick. My house is smaller and it took about 6 months!” Sahara laughed and Steve gave her a strange look. “Um ok...” he said and they dismounted their horses and tied them up on a post. When they got closer Sahara saw that “The House” was huge. “Gee man. How did you build it that fast? I mean the house is like a castle!” Sahara laughed. “Actually two weeks is enough! Maybe time passes faster on Minecraft. Eaerth must be really slow.” Steve said. “No actually Eaerth is quite fast. There are 12 hours from sunrise to sunset and 12 hours from sunset to sunrise and that equals 24 hours so that means there is 24 hours in a whole Sun-Cycle. And to get to some places on Eaerth takes ages. Like Ozraila to W’holland. That takes about one Sun-Cycle.” Explained Sahara “Sun-Cycle? I guess that means one day because the moon comes up at night...” Said Steve but they were already at the house front doors. “Look. Come in and get warm it is already getting dark. I can show you to the others.” Said Steve as the sun dipped below the horizon. Steve pushed Sahara in –doors and followed her in. Inside was quite pretty. They were in a narrow wooden hallway and a lit chandelier hung from the ceiling, filling the hallway with a weak orange glow. Sahara could see doors leading off to other rooms but they continued and went through a door at the end of the hallway. Inside the new room there was what looked like hard white sofas. The floor was a sky blue carpet. There were chests and strange looking tables in corners but the thing or rather things that caught Saharas eye the most were the other people.

Chapter 2

The other people.
Sahara gasped. These were the other guys Steve had mentioned. They were like Steve and her. Blocky and weird with a name tag to top it off. “Well guys. This is Sahara. I found her and so far she is very weird-” “HEY!” Steve was cut off by Sahara. “I am not weird! You are weird, you and your blocky friends and your COMS!” Sahara said angrily and one of the Block-People snickered “Ok, Ok! Calm down Sahara! If it weren’t for me your brains would have probably been stolen by zombies by now!” Steve retorted “Z-Zombi?” Asked Sahara sounding a little afraid “Yes Zombies. Now let me do the explaining. This is Starry Night. This is Llama Goddess. This is DeathLlama7. This is Glowstone Girl and finally this is PineappleJ.” Steve pointed to each person and said their names and this is what they looked like: Starry Night had a sort of blue tunic on. She wore brown boots and was holding a glowing bow. Llama Goddess just had a normal T-Shirt on with a llama on it. She wore faded jeans and sneakers, the kind of clothing a teenager would wear plus she held a silver sword. DeathLlama7 was a boy. He wore the kind of clothing a gladiator would wear. He held a blue sword. Glowstone Girl was obviously a girl. She looked like a warrior princess. She had beautiful clothing and she was holding a glowing book. Lastly PineappleJ looked cute. She was dressed in what looked like a panda onezie. She even had cute panda ears. PineappleJ was holding a golden block. “Well. What have you found here?” Asked DeathLlama7. “Ok guys. This is Sahara. Apparently she is from Eaerth 1980 and doesn’t know anything about Minecraft. She says she has COMS but they don’t have games or anything. So...” Steve trailed off. “Well...She is always welcome here as long as she is not a monster or Herobrian or anything.” Said Starry Night “Who is Herobrian? May I ask?” Said Sahara “Oh. Right you are not from Minecraft so you wouldn’t know the legend of Herobrian. This is how it goes...” And Starry Night told Sahara the legend of Herobrian*. Afterwards Sahara looked scared. “D-does he kill random people? Does he actually do that?” Sahara asked “Yes. I am sad to say...Poor Sundae8. He was killed by Herobrian and had to respawn. But it went wrong and he had to leave the game.” Steve said sadly. “Oh well. We better get a room for Sahara. I can show her the spare one.” Said Glowstone Girl. She rummaged around in a chest and found a bed. “Come on.” She said and went through a door. Sahara followed. They went through hallways and up stairs. Every now and then Sahara looked out the windows

lining the walls and saw that they slowly got higher and higher. Finally, near the top of the house they went into a

bare room. Well it wasn’t completely bare. It had one of those weird tables again, a chest, a painting with some sort of a monster on it against a sandy background, there was some torches at the end of the room, filling the room with an eerie glow. And there was a small window at the end of the room. Glowstone Girl put down the bed in a corner. “Here you go. You have got a crafting table and a chest if you want to make anything but you better go to bed now. Goodnight.” Glowstone Girl said and walked out of the room. Sahara got into bed and immediately found she was drifting off to sleep.

Sahara got up out of her bed and looked out the window. It was morning. She found she was hungry so she eventually found the room at the end of the hallway and went in. The others were in there already. They were chatting quietly. “Hi guys. Good morning to you.” Sahara greeted them happily. Starry Night looked up and walked over. “Hi. I bet your hungry so have an apple.” And Sahara suddenly found she had an apple. “What? How did you give me that apple? You didn’t even pass it to me!” Sahara asked, baffled. “I threw it at you and your avatar picked it up. It does that automatically.” Starry Night explained “OK” Sahara said and ate the apple. Straight away she felt full. “Now what should I do? I can’t just stay here and be board.” Sahara asked “Well. You could come out to the tree farm and help me cut down some trees for wood.” Starry Night offered. “Ok. I shall help.” Replied Sahara. “Alright. Now there are some stone axes in the chest over there. Can you grab eight while I saddle the horses? We will probably be out there all day. And also grab some swords and food. Thanks.” Starry Night went away and left Sahara. She tried to open the chest and was quite surprised to find nothing happened. “What?” Sahara said to herself. “Oh. Starry didn’t explain how to use the chests. You have to concentrate and wish for the chest to open.” Explained Llama Goddess. This time Sahara tried it and it worked, though in a different way than she had expected. She seemed to be in her mind and be standing in front of a huge cupboard. There were lots of weapons and tools. Sahara reached up and grabbed eight of what she thought were stone axes and grabbed two stone swords. Then she got out of that chest and went into another one labelled ‘FOOD’. She got 6 apples and two pumpkin pies out of that. Then she went outside where Starry Night was waiting for her. She had a black and a white horse with her. “Hi. This is Night. He’s mine. And this is Snowy. You can have her.” Starry said passing her the reigns of the white horse. Sahara got on the horse and followed Starry Night. They walked along a gravel path until they reached a birch and oak forest with a fence around it. Starry and Sahara led their horses into a small stable by the tree farm and tied them up in there. “Come on and pass me some of those axes.” Said Starry Night. Sahara threw her four axes, one sword, three apples and a pumpkin pie. Starry picked up the stuff, went into the farm via a gate and started to cut a tree down with her axe. Sahara followed and started doing the same thing. There were a couple of sheep and pigs in the tree farm. They cut down heaps of trees and planted the saplings they dropped. Starry even let Sahara keep some of the excess saplings. They worked for the whole day and ate most of their apples but it eventually was becoming night-time and the two Minecrafters set a course towards the house. When they got there Sahara gave Starry her wood and went up to her room. She went over to her chest and found that someone had put a new stone tool of every sort in there along with ten apples and 5 cookies. She smiled and then went to bed.
In the morning Steve woke Sahara up. “I’ve got something I want to show you.” He said, grinning. They went down to another room full of chests. Steve got some stuff out of them and then they went outside. “Ok Sahara. Minecraft is made up of many blocks and shapes and sizes. Some are precious and some are just dirt. I am going to show you some special blocks. I thought I may as well show you what you are occasionally going to find.” Steve said and got out a blue oval shaped thing. “This is a diamond. It is quite a special thing in Minecraft. It can be used to make powerful stuff and weapons. Like this diamond sword. It is one of the powerful weapons of Minecraft.” Steve grabbed another object. “Ahh. This be an eye of the ender. Or an ender eye. You can get these from endermen. You use them to travel to the end. I only have been there once but in the end it is made of obsidian, End stone and end crystals. But most importantly the end or ender dragon lives in the end. She is the mother of all those endermen. If you kill her you will get her egg and then it will-“ Steve stopped abruptly. “I’m sorry but I can’t tell you about that yet. Maybe later...Maybe later.” He hurriedly put the ender eye away and picked up another block. “This is

a beacon. They show you where stuff is. We light the beacons on the house at night but I guess I will show you how they work now.” Steve got some diamond blocks and made a pyramid out of them. Then he placed the beacon on top of the pyramid and immediately a blue-white light shot out of the top of the beacon and went high into the sky. “That, Is a beacon.” Steve said. Then he went over to the beacon and tapped it with his hand. “This is also what a beacon is used for. C’mon, Try it.” He said. Sahara went over to the beacon and before she could touch it, Steve butted in. “Oh. I forgot to tell you, The beacon is much like the chests. You have to concerntrate.” He explained. Sahara understood and nodded and touched the beacon. Suddenly a screen shot up in front of her. It was a bit like the Chest-screens but it didn’t have any big cupboards like the chests did. Instead there were buttons with symbols on them. In the background she could hear the faint voice of Steve, he was giving out instructions and Sahara strained to hear him. “Now these buttons are powerups...” He seemed to be saying “If you press them you shall get a powerup on your player. The more buttons you press, the better powerups you get. But first get out of there.” Sahara broke concentration and turned around to look at Steve. “To get the powerups you need to pay the beacon. Here.” Steve threw a silver bar at Sahara and she caught it. “Give yourself a powerup.” Steve said. Sahara went back into concentration with the silver bar.she placed it in a small box then she reached out to a button with some wings on it and pressed it. Suddenly she broke concentration and stared at Steve. “Err. So what happens now?” Sahara asked. “Depends on what button you pressed. What did the symbol look like?” Steve said. “Um. This one with wings on it.” Sahara said. “Ok. That’s a good one. It gives you flying powers.” Steve said calmly. “WHAT?! That IS very good. I’ve always want to fly. It’s my dream.” Sahara exclaimed. “Well go on then. Have a try. Just jump.” Steve instructed. Sahara jumped and hovered in the air. “Hey! This is...” Sahara couldn’t find a word “Cool” Steve said“Yeah. Coool mann... Hahahaha!” Sahara giggled. “You guys speak so weird.”Steve just nodded. “Well. That’s enough fun for today. C’mon, back to the house.” Steve started walking back. It was about lunchtime when they went back to the house. Steve rummaged about in a chest before getting two pumpkin pies. “Here you go. Eat up.” Sahara grabbed one of the pies and ate it quickly. “Now you can have some free time. Eat when you get hungry but don’t go in the NO ENTRY doors. Ok?” Steve said. Then he walked away, leaving Sahara alone. Sahara shrugged and went through a door off to the side of the room. There was a staircase going down underground. She didn’t see any no entry signs so she went down the staircase. It went down a long way and was occasionally lit by a torch. Finally Sahara reached a metal door. She couldn’t open it by her bare hands but there was a lever next to the door so when she pulled that the door opened. She entered a large white room, with a large fireplace at the end and dotted around were strange stands and some chests. Starry Night was also in the room. She was bent over a cauldron and was muttering things. She reminded Sahara of a witch. “Hi Starry. What are you doing?” Sahara said softly. Starry looked up. “Hi Sahara. I’m just brewing potions.” Starry answered. Then she left the cauldron and went and got something out of a chest before dropping it in the cauldron. “Wanna see?” Starry asked. Sahara came over to her and peered into the swirling cauldron. It made her feel queasy. “What sort of potion?” Sahara asked “Um, a healing potion. It’s good for when we are out fighting monsters.” Starry said calmly. “You FIGHT the monsters? You guys are crazy...” Sahara gasped “Well...if you want to survive in Minecraft, it’s the only way.” Starry explained. Sahara nodded in understanding. “Should I learn?” She asked. “Learn what?” Starry asked, confused. “Well...y’know, to survive. Like to fight the monsters and brew the potions and navigate and milk the cows, shear the sheep, err harvest the pigs and collect the chicken eggs. I want to learn how to build and and and...” Sahara stopped, lost for words. “And Mine.” Starry finished calmly. “Mine?” asked Sahara. “Well how do you think MINEcraft got its name?” Starry Night asked. “By MINING of course.” Starry answered without letting Sahara speak. “You must learn how to mine.” “I shall teach you first. I shall teach you how to fight and brew. I shall teach you how to navigate and care for the animals. I shall teach you how to build and then, only then, shall I teach you to mine.”

Chapter 3

Sahara woke up. It was her first day of lessons today and Starry Night was going to teach her about the animals of Minecraft. Sahara went down to the Chest-Room to meet Starry. “Hey Sahara. You ready to go to the farm?” Starry Night asked. “Yes.” Sahara had packed some cookies the night before. Right then PineappleJ came into the room. She was holding a stone pickaxe. “Hello guys. Watcha doing?” She asked. “Um Sahara and I are going to the farm. Saharas lessons start today.” Explained Starry. “Cool. I’m going mining. I’ll try and find something for you, Sahara.” PineappleJ said happily and walked out the room. “Let’s go.” Said Starry and exited. Sahara followed. They didn’t need horses to get to the farm. It was around the back of the house. The farm was quite big. There were a lot of paddocks. First Starry took Sahara to one of the back paddocks. What were in it gave Sahara a bit of a surprise. In the paddock was a bunch of rainbow coloured sheep. There were2 or more of every colour, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple and Pink. “What? These are Rainbow sheep! I thought sheep could only be coloured White, Brown, Mustard-Yellow or Black!” Sahara exclaimed. “Well then, Minecraft must be very different than Eaerth.” Starry said, amused. Then Starry got out what looked like shears from her inventory and entered the paddock. “C’mon and oh, you might need some shears” Starry said and gave some shears to Sahara. “How do I shear?” Asked Sahara. “Hold down on the sheep with your shears and you will get blocks of wool.” Explained Starry. Sahara nodded and went into the paddock. Sahara walked over to a pink sheep. It baad at her but Sahara held the shears to the sheep and its wool instantly came off in blocks. Sahara picked up the blocks and tried not to laugh at the naked sheep. Then she went and sheared a blue sheep and got some blue wool. Soon Sahara had sheared her share of sheep and leaned against a fencepost. “I sure have sheared my share of sheep.” Sahara laughed. “Theres a lot of Ss’ in that sentence.” Observed Starry Night. Suddenly Starry looked at something in the distance. “That, Sahara is your first Creeper.” She said and pointed to a hill. A green thing was on top of it. It was about the same size as Starry, it had short, strange, stubby legs (Blocks Sahara thought) and it had a face made from blocks. It looked slightly friendly but it didn’t have any arms and was coloured with small blocks that were different types of green. “Well, now that you know what they look like it will be easier to avoid them.” Starry said “Are they dangerous?” Asked Sahara. “Very.” Starry said grimly. “They will blow themselves up as self protection.” And then added. “You don’t want to meet them when you only have a few hearts left. Remember, Sahara, Every monster out there wants to kill you. Every one!” Starry finished “Any questions about today’s lesson?” “Well, ummm...what do you mean by hearts?” Sahara asked “Oh! Silly me! I forgot that you can’t see them!” Starry laughed. “Well...hearts are your lives. When you lose all your hearts you will die. To see your hearts you have to concentrate, like you do with chests and beacons. You just ask to see your hearts. Oh and also, you can also see how hungry you are and how your armour is doing, if you are wearing armour.” Explained Starry. Sahara nodded and concentrated. ‘I want to see my hearts. I want to see my hearts...’ Sahara felt a bit weird when she said this but it worked and in the top left hand corner of her vision there were several red hearts. She also saw her food meter. There were animal legs of some sort. When she was hungry the meat would disappear. According to the food meter Sahara was quite hungry. (Well Sahara thought that she probably didn’t need the food meter to know.) Sahara broke concentration and looked at Starry. “Ok then. Let’s go back to the house.” Starry said, glancing at the sky. Starry left the sheep paddock and started walking back to the house.Sahara followed her. While they were walking the short distance back Starry asked Sahara a question. “Um Sahara...” She asked. “Ja?” “Well...ever since you came to Minecraft and Steve introduced you to us...well I have been wondering how you got here. Steve said something about Eaerth, right? And 1980.” Starry asked “Well, hmm. I shall tell you how I got here I guess. Well I was playing with my dog, Barney. And I was throwing his tennis ball for him and then it just disappeared, into thin air!” Starry was staring at Sahara, quite interested with Sahara’s story. “Well what happened next!” Demanded Starry “Then, well I went to search for the ball, thinking it had fallen quickly into the bushes. I looked for a while and then, when I walked across the lawn, I bumped into something invisible, it felt a bit like jelly so I reached out my hand to touch it and my

hand disappeared!” Starry looked puzzled. “Yeah, I kept on drawing my hand in and out of the hole when suddenly I felt and edge. I got hold of the edge and pulled it. I kept on pulling it until when I tried to put my hand back in, I nearly fell in. Then I thought this must lead to another world because all the boys at my school read these comics about space invaders and stuff. I didn’t usually listen to them but this looked fun so I jumped in. I went through a tunnel of wavy purple stuff that felt like water and then, I went unconscious and when I woke up I was in Minecraft.” Sahara finished. Starry gaped at her. “Well! You went through a Portal! That is really strange! I thought there were only Portals on Minecr-“Starry suddenly stopped and looked grim. She ushered Sahara into the house and told her to go to her room. “I have to talk to the other guys. Goodnight” Starry walked away through the house, leaving Sahara in the main hallway. Sahara felt curious. Why did Starry stop so suddenly? Why did she have to talk to the others so quickly? Sahara pretended to go to her room but turned and followed the voices that were coming from under the ground. She reached a door that was open even though there was a no entry sign. The door opened onto a flight of stairs that led underground. Sahara sneaked down them until she could see and hear the others and the others could not see or hear her. “Oh Steve! What are we going to do?” “It must be the work of Herobrine!” “He must have made the portal!” Suddenly Steves voice silenced the others. “Hush! Do not worry. We must send for the other Minecrafters. It will be a long and dangerous journey, but I shall take the ender-dragon to make it quicker.” Everyone gasped at Steve. “B-But you can’t! It takes ages of training. You are not a Dragon Master yet!” Said a shocked Llama Goddess. “I have enough training to last me the trip. I shall prepare and leave tomorrow at sun-high.” Decided Steve. “Meeting adjourned. If you have any worries or messages for the others, tell me before I go.” Steve got up and headed towards Sahara. Sahara quickly ran up the stairs and into the chest-room. Steve appeared after her. “What are you doing up so late?” He questioned her “I-I was hungry.” She lied. Steve narrowed his eyes but said nothing and left the room. Soon the others came into the room, looking a bit flustered except for DeathLlama7, who was looking grim. “Hi Sahara.” Said PineappleJ. “I left you some obsidian and iron from my mining trip. I hope you like.” Sahara smiled at her and left the room and went to her own room. Sahara looked through her chest at the iron and obsidian and then went to sleep.

Chapter 4

Steve departs.

“Come on Sahara. We are leaving the farm early today.” Said Starry. “Why?” Sahara asked although she already knew the answer. “You’ll see.” Said Starry sadly. The pair walked back to the house and stopped out the front. Sahara tried to look puzzled. Soon DeathLlama7, PineappleJ, Glowstone Girl and Llama Goddess came out of the house. “Where’s Steve?” asked Sahara. “You’ll see...” Said Starry unhappily. After a while Steve came out from behind the house. He was wearing glowing, diamond armour and held a glowing bow. He cleared his throat and started to talk “My dear friends, We are all threatened by an evil monster, Herobrine. This I regret to tell you all, especially Sahara for she was not born in our ways and must be quite confused and scared. So far we have worked out that Herobrine wants to destroy Minecraft. Instead of Minecraft he shall have HerobrineCraft. He plans to create portals which will suck all the things that everyone has ever known into Minecraft and make us his slaves. I must depart on a dangerous journey to ask for help from the other Minecrafters. No doubt that they want Minecraft to stay as it is. To get to the other Minecrafters I shall have to take the most powerful animal in Minecraft. The Ender Dragon.” Sahara gasped. So he ACTUALLY took the egg from the ender and hatched it. “Yes. I will be gone for quite a few weeks. I am leaving DeathLlama7 in charge for he has the most experience in Minecrafting. Sahara, you shall go on with your lessons. Starry Night, you will teach her as much as you know. And if I am not back even by the time, teach her to mine. PineappleJ, GlowstoneGirl and Llama Goddess, you shall take turns Mining and collecting resources to build with. You must make sure there are places for our fellow minecrafters to stay. That is all, now I must go. Goodbye.” Steve finished his speech and whistled a long, loud whistle. There was a loud roar and a shadow covered the house. The Ender Dragon was flying over the house! Sahara looked up and gasped. The Ender Dragon was all of what she had

imagined a dragon would be like. It was huge and blackish-purple, like the colour of obsidian. It was quite majestic. “She’s beautiful.” Observed Starry Night. “She?” Said Sahara “Yes. The Mother Ends only daughter. Her sons are the Endermen.” Explained Llama Goddess. The Ender Dragon landed close the Steve and gave a soft call. Steve went over and mounted the Ender Dragon. The Ender Dragon tilted back her head and roared to the sky. “Remember what I told you. Goodbye!” Steve yelled and his mount took to the skies and soon became a mere dot on the horizon. GlowstoneGirl bit her lip. “Gee, I’ll miss him.” And then she turned and started towards house. “Oh! Um Llama Goddess and PineappleJ. We have to work out the mining and stuff roster!” She called. Llama Goddess and PineappleJ nodded and quickly followed her. Only DeathLlama7, Starry Night and Sahara remained. “C’mon Sahara. There’s still some light left in the day. We can finish milking the cows. Soon you will be learning how to gather resources and build so hurry up!” Starry said and turned towards the farm. Sahara quickly ran after her.

After they had milked the cows Starry Night let Sahara come down and see all the potions she had brewed. “Now this is the coal walking potion. It helps you survive if you get on fire.” Starry explained. Sahara looked horrified. “Err, it sometimes happens when you are mining, you could fall into some lava or something.” Starry tried to explain but it made Sahara feel worse. Starry saw Saharas expression and quickly swapped potions. “This one is my favourite. It is the invisibility potion, it makes you invisible.” Sahara looked a bit more happy at this one. “Ok, that’s enough for today.” Starry said. “Tomorrow we are going to start on attack and defence. Meet me in the main room tomorrow morning. Seeya.” Starry Night left the potions room and went up the stairs, leaving Sahara alone in the potions room. Sahara looked around, and then followed Starry.

The next morning Sahara met Starry Night in the main room. “Ready?” Sahara nodded. The two minecrafters left the house and went onto the front lawn. On one side of the house, a structure was becoming visible. “What’s that?” asked Sahara as she watched Glowstone Girl and Llama Goddess busily build. Pineapple J was obviously off mining. “It’s the quarters for the other minecrafters that are coming.” Starry said briskly. Sahara stared up at the building-underway. It seemed to be coming along nicely, as it looked like a half built version of The House. Starry led Sahara around the house to a big shed out the back. The shed had big, sturdy iron doors. Starry pressed a button and ushered Sahara in as the doors closed behind them. “Welcome, to the Arena.” Starry announced. Sahara looked around. There was a fenced off area in the middle of the wooden floor, the fence was about two blocks high and could be entered using an iron door. Around the edges of the room were chests. There were a few doors leading off to other rooms in the corners. “Cool...” Sahara said. “Yeah, quite cool. I built most of it you know.” Starry said proudly. Sahara smiled. “Now, down to business. That,” Starry said, pointing to the fenced-off area. “Is the Fighting area. That’s where you learn to defend yourself.” “The chests hold resources, Armour, Food, Weapons etc.” Starry said. “And I’ll show you what’s in the other rooms...” There were four doors leading off to other rooms and Starry walked towards the closest one. Just before she opened the door Starry stopped and handed Sahara an iron sword. “Just a precaution...” she explained to a baffled looking Sahara. Slowly, Starry opened the door onto a stone staircase. They went down and entered a cold, dark room. There was a dark cage in the corner. “Ok now, don’t scream.” Said Starry and she placed a torch, filling the room with warm light. Sahara stared at the cage. A creepy green creature stood there. It looked like Steve, but its eyes were lifeless and its arms stretched ahead. “Z-zombi?” Said Sahara. The ‘Zombi’ let out a low moan. “Zombie, yes. Creepy, hey?” Starry said. “Don’t worry now, it can’t get out (I hope). Zombies are quite easy to kill. You can get feathers and rotten flesh from them.” Starry explained. “Watch this” She got a leather cap from her pocket and threw it at the Zombie. The Zombie paused for a few seconds and then the cap appeared on its ghastly head. “So don’t throw armour at Zombies, or any bad mob actually, it makes them stronger. You see?” Sahara nodded. “Come” Starry went back up the stairs and into the big shed again, with Sahara following. “I won’t show you any other monsters for today, but I can show you some basic moves.” Starry led Sahara over to the arena. “Wait a tick...” Starry ran over to one of the chests and got a few things out. She then went into the arena and assembled

something. “Come in.” She invited Sahara into the arena and started to explain. “I have assembled here a bit of a circle of a minecart track using powered rails.” “You stand at this end in-between where the track ends on either side. I will put the minecart on and you have to hit it with your sword to stop it falling off the tracks.” Starry explained “This teaches you basic sword movements that you can use when fighting.” Sahara nodded and walked over to where Starry had told her to stand. “Good, good. Ready? Go!” Starry placed the minecart and it zoomed towards Saharas right side. Sahara hit it and it turned around and went towards Saharas left. Sahara hit it again and it turned around again. They continued this for a while until Sahara got tired. “Ok we can stop now. You have done well.” Starry finally said. Sahara moved away from the tracks and the minecart rolled off. “That was tiring...well sort of.” Sahara puffed and she put down her sword. “I feel thirsty and hungry; can we go back to the house?” Sahara asked Starry. “Of course! Come on.” They left the training shed and went back to the house. They went into the main room and Starry started looking around in the chests. “Hmmm, let’s see...Water bottle and a Golden apple. Here you go.” Starry handed Sahara the bottle and the golden apple. “Here you go, eat up...and drink up.” Sahara grabbed the stuff and ate the apple quickly. A warm sensation spread through Sahara and her aching muscles soon felt strong again. “Mmmm. What was that?” Sahara said as she finished the apple and sculled down a bit of her water. “It was a golden apple. Useful, hey?” Starry explained. “You’ve done well today. I’m going to let you have some free time now. You are allowed outside but don’t go too far.” And with that Starry left the room. Sahara hadn’t been far from the house yet so she went outside. There was a snowy pine forest in the distance at the foot of a large mountain. Sahara gazed at it but then turned away to look at what Llama Goddess and Pineapple J were doing. They had finished their house structure and were moving onto making the walls and roof. Sahara watched them move over the structure like ants swarming over an ant-nest, except that there were only two people. “Hi!” Shouted Sahara at Pineapple J, who was making the roof. “Hi Sahara!” She shouted back “Watcha doing?” Sahara asked. “Building.” Llama Goddess answered. “Is it hard?” Asked Sahara. “Nope. Its pretty easy, you just place blocks where they are supposed to go. Sometimes it takes a long time though.” Said Pineapple J “We are nearly finished anyway, it should be done in a few days, and then we can furnish it before the others arrive.” Llama Goddess explained. Sahara had just about forgotten about Herobrines scheme and was reminded as Llama Goddess talked about the other minecrafters. “Has Starry taught you about building yet?” Asked Pineapple J “Nup. We have just moved onto attack and defence. Starry showed me a Zombi this morning.” Said Sahara. Llama Goddess muttered something that sound a bit like ‘I hate zombies’ and then turned to Sahara. “Well once we have finished this you can help us furnish it. You just have to place some blocks, I’m sure Starry would let you have a day off to help.” “That would be cool. Thanks.” Sahara said and then noticed that the sun was starting to dip behind the horizon. “Guys, the sun is setting. We should get inside.” She said and started to walk towards the house, then she realised the others weren’t following. “Hey, aren’t you coming?” Sahara asked. “Oh we can handle some monsters; they don’t come that close to the house, especially with the beacon alight.” Llama Goddess explained. “If we keep on working we should be able to finish tomorrow at sunset.” Said Pineapple J “Oh, Ok then. If you say so. Goodnight then!” Said Sahara and went back to the house.

The next day passed as usual, Starry didn’t show Sahara any monsters but Starry had organised a lecture about enchanting. “Ok Sahara, this isn’t as exciting as yesterday, but it is an important lesson. Enchanting is what we do to a weapon to make it stronger or to give it powers...” And so Starry went on and on and on and on about enchanting until Sahara fell asleep from boredom. Finally Starry woke Sahara from her slumber “I know that was a bit boring Sahara, but its important and necessary. Anyway I’ve got a present for you.” Starry held out an iron sword to Sahara. “Here, so you can protect yourself.” Sahara accepted the sword gratefully and thanked Starry. “Really, its nothing. It was easy to make. Now off you go to your room, it’s time to go to bed”. Sahara departed from the room they were using as a classroom and started going up the stairs to her room. But before she could get far, Llama Goddess stopped her. “Good news Sahara, We have finished the house and it is ready to be furnished. I’ll ask Starry if you can furnish it with us tomorrow.” “Cool! That sounds good. Please ask, I couldn’t stand another lecture

from Starry and I’m sure she’s got one planned.” Said Sahara feeling happy. “Ok then, Goodnight!”

The next morning Sahara awoke feeling joyful. She literally ran down to the main room and nearly knocked over DeathLlama7. He was holding a potion in his and looked strangely confused. “Hi! I haven’t seen you in a while.” Said Sahara happily “Hi. What are you doing today? I hear you’ve been doing lessons with Starry Night.” Said DeathLlama7 “Yeah, I usually do lessons but I’m probably furnishing the quarters for the others that are coming today. Starry is nice, she’ll let me have a day off to help Llama Goddess and PineappleJ.” Said Sahara happily “I see. Bye, although I might be out later. I just need to do some important work.” Said DeathLlama7 and he hurried off. Then Starry came into the room. “Hi! Was that DeathLlama7? He’s always in a hurry.” Starry said. “I said that you could have a day off to help furnish the others quarters, actually, I might help as well.” “Cool! Let’s go then.” Said Sahara and they both went out of the house and stood in front of the unfurnished house. It was about half the size of the big house but it still was quite large. Soon Llama Goddess and Glowstone Girl ran over. “Hello there! Thanks for volunteering to help us.” Said Llama Goddess happily “Pineapple J cannot join us today as she is mining, but I’m sure she’ll be happy with our work.” Said Glowstone Girl. “Now, there are thirty rooms in this half of the building and thirty in this half. Starry and Sahara, you take the left half and Glowstone Girl and I can take this half. Cool?” Llama Goddess said and they all nodded. “Now, a bed and a chest and a crafting table can go in each room. So you need to take forty five of those objects each.” Said Glowstone Girl. Sahara looked at Starry. Maths hadn’t been her strong point at school. Starry said Saharas baffled expression and laughed. “Ha! Don’t worry.” Starry walked over to Llama Goddess and asked her something. Then Llama Goddess gave some items to her and Starry walked back to Sahara. “Here you go” She said and gave some items to Sahara. “There, you should find the correct amount beds, crafting tables and chests. Now come on! We have to furnish the house!” Starry said and went inside. Sahara noticed that Llama Goddess and Glowstone Girl were already inside before following Starry; inside was quite nice, there were already carpets on the floors and a chandelier on the ceiling. “All the rooms are on the second floor, see?” Said Starry pointing to a staircase that led up. “So you can go up and start furnishing now then, I’ll follow.” Sahara went up to the second floor. There was a hallway and on either side of the hallway there was a row of doors like a hotel. Just like back on Eaerth, Sahara remembered painfully. So Sahara picked one side of the hallway and Starry picked the other. Sahara went into the first room and started placing the crafting tables and the chests and the beds. It took quite a while but finally Sahara finished the third floor of the house and stopped. “Well done, I’m sure our guests will be happy with our work, hey?” Starry said happily. “Cool. Do you know when the others will actually arrive?” Asked Sahara “Well, I don’t really know but I think they will be arriving near the end of the week...maybe.” Said Starry. Suddenly, Pineapple J came rushing up the stairs. She whispered something to Starry and then left again. “Well Sahara, that’s a bit of your question answered.” Starry said with a grin. “Some Minecrafters are arriving tonight...by portal.” “Wow! Portal...that’s the thing I went through to get here. I wonder if it’s going to be a window-portal like mine...” Said Sahara looking up at Starry. “Ok, I haven’t heard of a window-portal before...sounds interesting. Anyway, you better get ready for the arrival tonight, so you can have the rest of the day off. You’ve done a good job.” Starry dismissed Sahara and she ran down the stairs and out the door of the new house. Sahara felt hungry so she went into the main room and ate some watermelon pieces and then waited in her room until Starry came to get her. “Ok Sahara, the minecrafters are arriving soon. Just be good, they are from middle earth. Got it?” Starry said “Middle Eaerth?” Sahara said and then she remembered “Like J.R.R.R Tolkeins books?” “Um, I guess.” Said Starry and then they both departed from the room. Starry led Sahara onto the lawn where Llama Goddess, PineappleJ, Glowstone Girl and DeathLlama7 already stood. “Ok guys, any minute now...” said DeathLlama7. Suddenly, there was a loud POP! And a huge golden ring appeared a few blocks away. It was hovering in the air and spinning in circles quickly. There was another loud noise and a large male elf fell from the hovering ring. The elf stood up and walked away from the ring as he watched more elves fall from the ring. Soon there was a large collection of female and male elves. Then the elf that fell first stepped forward and introduced himself. “Greetings Minecrafters. I am Olvan.

Leader of the Minecraft elves.” Said Olvan. Sahara looked puzzled, were there even such things as the Minecraft elves, she thought. She hadn’t read anything about it in The Hobbit or The Lord of The Rings. “And I am Lenori. Queen of the Minecraft elves.” Said a beautiful female elf stepping forward. “You sent a message, saying Minecraft was in danger. Even though we live in Middle Earth, we still live in Minecraft so this is our problem as well as yours.” Said Olvan. “Yes, that is correct. We have discovered a plot that Herobrine wants to destroy Minecraft and create Herobriancraft. If Herobrine wins this war, we will be forced to be his slaves and Minecraft will exist no-more. Our home will be in ruins.” Said DeathLlama7 grimly. “Terrible, just terrible. We have brought our best warriors as you requested.” Said Lenori “So let’s just hope we win this war.” “Yes, ok, we have been busy building a house for you. You can use it or build your own shelter if you would like. We don’t care.” Said Glowstone Girl. “Well, we have bought our own materials. We might build our own dwelling if you don’t mind.” Said Olvan “There’s more space anyway for the others that I believe are coming.” “Yes, yes, whatever you want. We have lots of food if you need it, or you can hunt.” Said DeathLlama7. Olvan didn’t answer this one; he just looked up at the sky. “Oh my! Look, its getting dark. You don’t mind if we sleep in that house that you spoke of?” “No, no I don’t mind.” Said DeathLlama7 “Ok then. We’ll work some stuff out in the morning then.” Said Olvan. “Oh and I heard the Hobbits are coming tomorrow via a portal like ours. Do make sure they have comfy quarters to stay in.” Said Lenori. “Well, quickly, come along! There’ll be monsters spawning any minute now.” Said Olvan and the elves let themselves be escorted quickly over to the new house by Llama Goddess and DeathLlama7. “I think it’s time for you to go to bed.” Starry said to Sahara then they both walked towards the house. “Sahara, we will have to start building some more places for the others to stay in. So I’m going to teach you how to build tomorrow. I can always continue on with your fighting training later. This war we all speak about is still in its early stages so you have enough time to learn a decent amount.” Said Starry “Ok...that’s ok with me.” Said Sahara “Good. You start tomorrow by helping the elves build their quarters.” Said Starry. By now they had reached the staircase “Goodnight. See you in the morning.” Starry said and then she left Sahara and went into the next room. Sahara climbed the staircase and entered her room. Sahara lay down on her bed and fell into a deep sleep.

Sahara woke up and got out of bed. She looked through her chest and found that someone had put a bowl of soup, three watermelon pieces and some bread in there. She ate her bread and a piece of watermelon and decided to leave the other food for her lunch and dinner. Sahara went downstairs to the main room and found Llama Goddess writing in a blue book. Llama Goddess paused to eat a slice of bread and then continued writing. “Hi” Said Sahara. Llama Goddess jumped and looked up. “Oh, hi. It’s just you...” Said Llama Goddess “Watcha doing?” Asked Sahara “Um, I’m writing in my diary. I like to keep track of events.” Said Llama Goddess “Ok. I have to go help Starry and the elves build their quarters. Bye, seeya later.” Said Sahara and she left the room and exited the house. She went over to where the Elves and Starry were standing. “You took your time.” Said Starry “Sorry, I was talking to Llama Goddess.” Sahara apologised “Well we were about to start without you, so come on and I’ll give you your building materials.” Starry said. Sahara went closer to her and Starry passed Sahara some blocks of wood. “We are going to build a couple of huts for the elves. You can partner up with Emmi here.” Said Starry. A pretty female elf stepped forward. “Hello, I am Emmi. Come over here and I’ll show you how to begin building.” Emmi said softly and ushered Sahara to a flat piece of land close to where Starry and the other elves were standing. “First, we make the base. We are going to make a square base so put down ten blocks of wood for each side. Look, I’ll start you off.” Emmi said and started placing the blocks. Once she had done one side she spoke again “Ok, now you try. Just place the blocks, its easy.” Sahara placed a block that joined onto Emmi’s side . “yes, see? Easy. Well come on now, keep on building.” Emmi said. Sahara kept on placing wood until she had made an outline of a box. “Good job. Now place the blocks on top of each other until we have five block high walls.” Said Emmi, so Sahara did that. “ Nice! You’ll have no trouble building huts. It is pretty easy if you think about it though. Oh well then, lets do the roof. Now we are only doing simple huts so a flat roof will be fine.” Emmi said “First break a hole two blocks high on one of the walls and go inside.” Emmi instructed “then put blocks along the top row of blocks that are making

the wall and then yeah, cover it over. You get what I mean?” said Emmi “Yeah, I get you” said Sahara, concerntrating. “Good, just keep on doing that, then, walahh! You have your own hut.” Said Emmi happily. Sahara soon finished off the hut and stood back to admire her work. “Nice hut, Sahara.” Said Starry coming over. “Very nice.” “Thanks Starry, will we have to make more?” Asked Sahara “Yes, well, one more today, more tomorrow.” Said Starry. “But you better get to work before it becomes dark, otherwise you’ll be fighting off zombies sooner than you think.” Joked Starry and then walked away to talk with Olvan and Lenori about something. Sahara and Emmi finished off another hut and quickly furnished the huts they had made with beds and torches before Starry hurried over. “Ok girls, enough for today. Sahara, you’d better get inside before it gets too dark and Emmi, you should go find out which hut you’re staying in. Goodnight.” She ushered Sahara over to the door of the house and pushed her in. “Ok Sahara, I’m on night duty tonight so I’m not coming in. You can stay up if you want, just don’t stay up too late.” Said Starry “And you know about not being too nosy. Goodnight!” Starry smiled and then went outside again. Sahara closed the door and turned around. ‘Maybe I can do a bit of adventuring before Starry gets back.’ She thought ‘just around the ground floor.’ Sahara smiled and then stepped through a door on her right. It was a brightly lit room and had lots of chairs and seats she could sit on. In the corner was what looked like a desk, although it was hard to tell? There was a chest though so Sahara opened it and inside was a lot of books. Sahara didn’t pick any up but she made a mental note to grab one later. There was a staircase in the corner so Sahara went up it. It lead to a passageway with lots of doors leading to rooms on the sides. There were lots of flights of stairs that Sahara went up. All the stairs led to a passageway that looked exactly like the one before. Sahara kept on going up the steps until after about the 15th flight she found a passage way with only one door at the very end. The walls of the passageway were decorated with lots of paintings that were of various landscapes. As Sahara reached the door at the end she found a lot of noise was coming from behind the door. Also, on the door was a sign saying:

Llama Goddess’s Room

AUTHORISED PERSONNALL ONLY

KEEP OUT

Sahara knocked gently on the door and the noise stopped. Then after about 30 seconds someone opened the door. It was Llama Goddess. “Sahara! What are you doing here?” She gasped. “I, er…” Sahara stuttered. Llama Goddess gave her a smile. “Oh well, doesn’t matter. We are all curious. Come in.” she said and beckoned to her room. Sahara stepped in. Llama Goddesses room was much bigger than Saharas. It had multiple doors leading off to the sides. There were blocks of diamond and gold in the corner and lots of chests labelled things like ‘FOOD’ and ‘MINING’. Above one of the doors was a sign saying ‘Bathroom’. There were lots of seats sort of arranged in a circle and what looked like a portal stood in the corner giving off a sort of humming sound. “Its nice, hey?” said Llama Goddess, smiling. “Yeah, must be quite comfortable.” Agreed Sahara, glancing around. “yes, lovely… well anyway I have to continue getting my armour on for the monster fight tonight.” Said Llama Goddess and went off to one of her chests. “Monster Fight?” echoed Sahara. “Oh yes,” said Llama Goddess turning around with an emerald green sword in her hand “Yes, we have them most nights, mainly on weekends though. We fight the monsters to get supplies, experience and to keep our fighting skills up. Also, it’s quite fun.” Sahara stared. “ha!” laughed Llama Goddess “You can watch us you know.” “Really? Asked Sahara “Oh yes really, theres a balcony through that door. You can watch from there.” Said Llama Goddess, gesturing to a door on her left. “Just don’t tell Starry Night and don’t stay up too late.” She added with a wink. “now I have a monster murdering party to attend to” and with that Llama Goddess exited the room. Sahara stared at the balcony door for a bit and then pushed it open. Under her feet she could hear the sounds of yelling and laughing. She peered over the edge of the balcony and saw Starry and Llama Goddess slashing with their swords at a green thing that has hissing, then suddenly it fell over, disappeared and all that was left was a small grey floating thing. Sahara laughed and kept on watching the other players kill the monsters. She was beginning to feel tired after a while and glanced up at the horizon. The sun was beginning to peek over the line of mountains that boarded the valley in which the house was. Sahara remembered what Llama

Goddess had said and went back inside. She then found her way back to her room and managed to get a bit of sleep before the sun was fully up. In the morning she went into the main room and went to find Starry. She was sitting at the table and chatting to Lenori and didn’t realise that Sahara was staring. Suddenly Starry looked up and seemed surprised to see Sahara staring at her. “Oh, hi Sahara!” she exclaimed “Um, Lenori and I were just talking about the hobbits arriving today.” “Oh.” Sahara felt a different emotion bubble up inside her. She didn’t really like Lenori hanging out with Starry. Starry Night was HER friend. Sahahra stared at Lenori “Oh.” She repeated “Well, yes. And also I thought I’d give you a riding lesson today. I have a young stallion that I’d like to break in. its really easy.”
