It may seem like jeb and dinnerbone are making minecraft to easy/hard, ruining it with new content, but the thing is, it doesn't matter! Chopping down wood, mining, building houses, that's never going to change! Sure there are swamp hut's and witches and bats, but the thing is that they only appear in the game if you WANT them to. I mean, bat's in caves? What is overdone about that? It's awesome and is the first flying overworld mob! Plus the're PASSIVE mobs! And witch's, sure there in swamp huts and appear in swamp's, but if you don't want to see them, don't go near them!
